Lorie Lines latest CD is another winner. The first song "Jackson's Song" is hauntingly beautiful and is named after her son. Great music. A must purchase!!

The songs on this CD range from wonderful memories of long ago with Nights In White Satin, to the contemporary theme from Rent. I love them all. And to think she produces her CDs herself! I first saw her on QVC and have fallen in love with her style of performing.

I bought this CD for the song, "Jackson's Girl," a piece that reminded me of the spirit of "Threads of Love." "JG," and "ToL," are two of my favorite LL songs.
Two other noteworthy songs on this CD include "Nights in White Satin," and "You Must Love Me," which includes a very tasteful use of the cello to compliment the piano. The CD includes a few Celtic flavored songs, including the very enjoyable "Sidh Beag and Sidh Mor." Mandolinist Peter Ostroushko appears on several songs including "Star of the County Down." "Rights of Man" did not impress me as being one of the more melodically interesting Celtic tunes. "Forest Lake," written by Lorie Line, features her on piano alone, and is a pleasant tune of impressionistic melody. A major problem I had with some of the music on the CD is the major role given to the saxaphone as being the predominant instrument in laying down the melody for songs rather than allowing the piano to dominate. Other instruments are played at a volume that often puts the piano in the background, as in "Seasons of Love," and "Go the Distance." When the piano takes the foreground in "GtD," it reminded me of how much more pleasant this song would have been if LL had done a solo version of this song on the piano, or just used a few instruments. "The Lord's Prayer," also included many other instruments and the melody of this hymn did not come through as powerfully if the piano had been used alone. That said, most of the songs on this CD are very enjoyable to me, and worth listening to if just for "Jackson's Girl," "Nights in White Satin," "You Must Love Me," and a few of the other songs rendered in a more simple way. This is my third most favorite LL CD. I have just three CDs by her. I prefer the music of LL that is devoted to simple piano solos or includes just minor background instrumentation, mellow music, cover hits, and ballads. That leaves plenty of room for me to learn to like the rest of her other music!

One of my favorite CD's, even my 5 yr old hums along! Calming music, perfect remedy for a hectic day. This collection contains relaxing Celtic tunes, music from popular soundtracks, and original songs from the artist. Buying this one started my collection of Lorie Line.
