One of the best books I read,
By Lake (Silicon Valley, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Open Road's The Smart Home Buyer's Handbook (Paperback)
I am trying to shop for my first home and have tried to read books on housing for many years but this book was the only one I could finish. This book is concise and full of useful info. Compared to other books which are usually much bigger than this one, this book tries to tell you what you don't know instead of common sense that you have known. Other books repeating the obvious facts are really a waste of time. This book trims fat (not all fat but a lot) and gives you essential info. It's a small book with 223 pages but it's helpful.I say it's one of the best books I read because the writer is efficient. I can imagine other people can expand the same content to 400+ pages easily. It's not easy to find a good read because most time I find myself looking for info I need among pages. Most authors use one or even more page(s) to explain something that can be expressed by one sentence. They drag on and on. By reading this book, I understand a book can be written in this efficient style. Thank Mr. Keating. I was searching for his other books but didn't find anything. Hope Mr. Keating would continue to write. If you are short of time on home buying topic, give this book a try. |
