Product Description

Platform: GameCube

Team up with a cast of crazy critters, unleashing your animal instincts in a riotous romp in the great outdoors in which a rowdy brood of forest animals turns the tables on a bunch of unsuspecting hunters. When a domesticated grizzly named Boog gets lured into leaving the creature comforts of home by a fast-talking mule deer named Elliott, he finds himself lost in the woods just three days before hunting season begins. Forced to rough it in the great outdoors, Boog goes native, rallying all the forest animals to take back their home and send the hunters packing.

4.0 out of 5 stars open season's great., March 18, 2007
A Kid's Review
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Open Season (Video Game)
you start off as a bear named Boog that lives with a park ranger in her garage the first level teaches you how to grab things and reach out the sides of the rangers car and then you meet a deer named Elliot that you rescue from a hunter who tells you that your enemies now and the level ends. Next Elliot comes to your garage and throws rabbits at your window until you wake up and learn hot to open the door and go to the supermarket and destroy the chocolate bar stands in a couple of seconds after that the police sirens go off and they shoot you with darts which after that they send you too the forest and you learn how to be a wild animal and use new skills like foraging, roaring, sniffing and dancing to get rid of porcupines and learn how to use rabbits and squirrels and help the animals with different chores and things and using skunks on hunters and now the hunters...you roar at them, throw them into campfires and bear traps, chase them with a chainsaw as Elliot. For Elliot when you use him all you get to do is chase them around with a chainsaw and taunting them into campfires but other than that that's all that Elliot does. Then you get to fight shaw which you have to follow instructions to do which is throw a rabbit at him then use a skunk and finally he shoots Elliot by mistake and you have to roar at him then it goes to a cut scene where Boog grabs him, roars and ties him up with his gun and then it's over. so after that there's mini-games like throwing rabbits at other people and holding onto the rabbit the longest then there's climbing up a waterfall before anyone else.I think there's more but i can't remember them all so that's how this game is. i don't think it's too easy or too hard sort of in the middle.

5.0 out of 5 stars this game is great!!!, October 5, 2006
A Kid's Review
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Open Season (Video Game)
ok this game is good the only thing i was disappointed with was maybe it could have been more...interactive?

I mean it's great that you don't have to worry about falling off a tree when crossing a river but then it ruins the percise timing that was in other games i played but the part with the hunters is great!!

i don't think it could annoy little kids TOO bad but the only thing i don't like is walking past a window and BOOM!!! the hunter shoots you!!

you can fight people by roaring, skunk bombs, bear traps, campfires or throwing them over the cliffs OR just picking them up and throwing them around the area for a few seconds.

and then the puzzles...ok they're nothing like guess what's in a box before time runs out or anything like that but they're mostly "sneak behind the hunter and grab him before he sees you." this is impossible there's a 50/50 chance he'll catch you but unlike any hunter i've seen before he says "what the? a bear!! ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!" ok i don't know if a hunter would say that but why would a bear sneak behind you anyway???
