"OPEN"
It's Gorgeous! Musically delicious! Jon Anderson has, it seems, an unending ability to make his audience smile and FEEL GOOD!
I love this guys work. I saw Jon with "YES" 24 times, and now as of this year, 2011, seen his solo shows 5 times.
(If I include the last show "The Living Tree" tour with Mr Rick Wakeman)

He has that "Gift of Light" that he speaks of so much of his music. I'd heard of this piece "Open", some months back, and finally had the chance to
download it tonight, the day after Thanksgiving, 2011. After enjoying a fine meal I was truly grateful for, I heard OPEN for the 1st time.
It's Jon Anderson at his finest. Yes, his voice has changed slightly, yes it's noticeable, and it's as endearing as ever, and more!

If you are a true fan of Jon's then know you will love this work. I have no doubt it will become a staple for this fan. I feel fortunate I am still, at this point
in time, able to have a chance to hear this great man releasing excellent new audio delights. He is maturing finely. Every stage of his musical life has not
disappointed! The 2011 tours, both solo & w/ Rick were superb. This fan has no regrets. Jon is happy, and it shows in his personal
appearances and in his writing!
Buy (on I-Tunes for a savings of $5.) this song complete w/ PDF file of the "OPEN" booklet and relax as you will, and ENJOY!

5.0 out of 5 stars Jon is back! (He never left.) January 4, 2012
Format:MP3 Music|Amazon Verified Purchase
For anyone waiting for a Yessy new epic, this is it. Sweeping and symphonic, this piece borrows a short theme from "New Language" (The Ladder, 1999) and reminds me of the best of Magnification. A piece this good could be twice as long and I'd still want to immediately press Replay for more.

4.0 out of 5 stars Jon Anderson? Why Yes It Is! December 8, 2012
Format:MP3 Music
I've always preferred Jon's non-linear lyrics in the early Yes days (think "I've Seen All Good People"). So for me, this epic single, Open, falls short of my expectations. It continues his predictable syrupy lyrics that we saw on Survival And, and Living Tree. That said, there are some interesting melodies built within this song, making it a very enjoyable listen. I would have preferred a stronger climactic finish but maybe we'll get that with Open Part II.

Far too much is being made of the changes in Jon's voice. Everyone's voice changes (e.g. Van Morrison, Greg Lake, etc) so deal with it. His voice is still 10X better than Yes' revolving door of lead singers.

This single is unmistakably Jon Anderson and even casual fans of Yes or Jon will enjoy the music.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Orchestration
Jon Anderson is accompanied here by some excellent orchestrations. I'm not sure who played or arranged the music, but it reminds me of the orchestra on Magnification. Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Really like this!
I think this is a nice piece from Jon. I don't hear any change/deterioration in his voice in any way at all, as other reviewers have suggested. Read more

2.0 out of 5 stars Mere politics
Most of these reviews put down another artist--Yes--rather than say anything meaningful about Jon's work.
BTW why does no preview feature Jon's voice?
Think about it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bring the YES MUSIC that the recent 'Yes' Album lacks
Superb long-form piece that goes through a number of progressions (duh) whilst maintaining upbeat and positive sounding throughout - a real high energy tonic! Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars Jon's demo of a never-to-be Yes epic
Jon Anderson's new progressive rock EP sounds like a collection of his home demos grafted onto backings by a symphony orchestra. Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars More Yes than "Yes"
That's right, this new long form song from Jon Anderson has far more Yes going for it than what "Yes" released recently. Read more
