Since May 19th 2005, OpenBSD version 3.7 has been available
for purchase/download. While 3.6 is good (I'm still running it while I wait for my 3.7 cdrom to arrive) 3.7 is even better. 3.6 Install is a breeze and takes about 10 minutes. Installing all the application packages I use (KDE,xpdf,LaTeX,gvim,etc) takes about another hour via dsl download. There are problems with USB 2.0 support in 3.6, but USB support improves in 3.7. Prior experience with unix is helpful, but not necessary - the man pages are very well written and complete. Switch to OpenBSD and internet malware(trojans, viruses, popups, etc) will cease to be a problem. |
