Channeling is a skill that can be learned. Sanaya Roman and Duane Packer, with the help of their guides, Orin and DaBen, have created a definitive, inspirational, and easy-to-use guide to the art of channeling. Opening to Channel: How to Connect with Your Guide includes practical hands-on instruction in how to know if you are ready, how to attract a high-level guide, how to going to trance, how to channel for friends, how to use channeling to open to the higher dimension, and much more. -- The Midwest Book Review
Channeling is usually defined as the process by which a medium or psychic transmits information from a non-physical entity who speaks through them. Roman and Packer explain channeling as communicating with a high-level [spiritual] guide and bringing though verbal information. Traditionally, trance channeling has meant channeling when the medium is in a trance and not conscious of his/her words, though Roman and Packer encourage conscious awareness so that the medium herself can benefit from the messages.
I appreciate this book because it is clearly written and offers a sensible step-by-step process whereby anyone who is interested can begin to learn to channel. It demystifies the process, eliminates erroneous ideas that frighten people, and make channeling accessible. My greatest appreciation however, is that this book is far more than just another spiritually chic, how-to book. It contains true spirituality; underscores the channeling process with words of love, encouragement and empowerment; and eliminates unfounded fears. Without making false promises, without offering quick fix, without promising us material success, it consistently points us toward a spiritual path, reminding us that we are surrounded by love and teaching us how to reach out to bring more of that love into our lives. -- The Common Boundary, December 1987
