A great cd.,

I discovered Doug when I bought the Bravo Broadway series and was delighted with his rendition of Music of the Night. So when his first solo cd came out the other day I bought it and it was very good. He makes each song his and adds realiasm to all of the tracks. Before the cd came out I was not sure about songs like Mr. Cellophane, but he pulled them off well. The only problem I had with the cd was Christiane Noll. Don't get me wrong I love her voice and was excited to hear her sing the title song of Phantom of the Opera, but she fell a little short. Her voice is just not suited for that song. But this cd still deserves 5 stars for LaBrecque's stellar performance.

Broadway Doesn't Get Better,

Doug Labrecque has a long and distinguished Broadway career that has evolved into a constant string of engagements with pops orchestras around the world. Let's face it, folks: Modern recording technology can make anyone sound good on CD, but the real artists are the ones who can make it happen "live." I've worked with Doug more times than I can count, and I'm constantly amazed at the lyricism, depth, and craft that he brings to every performance. His voice is so free and clear, and every phrase--every note!--sounds as though it were shaped with the utmost care. To top it all off, Doug is always kind, generous, and professional. This CD is a fine showcase of a rare talent, with beautiful arrangements and orchestrations, well-recorded, and a true personal statement from a fine artst. Enjoy.
