I purchased the book for my IPad and I haven't been able to put it down. I am ordering the book for my husband as a
Father's Day gift. This book is very informative. I lived and am living through the Pentecostal heritage. This book would be a great gift for anyone who desires to know more about praying.

Fred Stone (Perry's Dad) was an incredible person of prayer and experienced many answers to prayer. I loved listening to his stories, they always inspired me to do more and be more. The legacy he left his family (Perry) encourage me to want to leave that kind of legacy for my own children.

Everyone should read this book!

Do you get frustrated in your prayer life or struggle with unanswered prayer? Do you yearn to know more about God and how to talk to Him so that you can feel His presence? Perry Stone, evangelist and author of numerous best-selling books, offers up powerful examples of prayer from the lives of biblical characters and examples from his own life in "Opening the Gates of Heaven" his newest release.

Stone teaches about prayer using the example his father set for him and explains prayer in great detail. He has included examples of answered prayer in his own life and how others have been affected by his insight. Stone shares deeply held beliefs and backs it up with scripture. Readers may cringe at some of the chapters but must remember that Stone's religious upbringing and background have influenced his beliefs and his writing.

"Opening the Gates of Heaven" is a good resource on prayer. Stone is not teaching steps to answered prayer, but is providing a guide on walking in God's favor and blessing. God may not always answer our prayers the way we anticipate; however, He is always available and listening to our prayers. We are required to walk in obedience and by faith in order for God to move in our lives.

I like Perry Stone, though he has two strikes against him, he is a "minister" and even more he is a television preacher. However, his books are a deeper look into beliefs of Judaism than 90% of preachers ever touch. This is a powerful book on prayer and I was especially moved by his honest discussion about angels. Perry shares scripture and experiences from his and his family's life experiencing angels. Most people don't touch this subject, but as Perry shares when Peter was released from prison the church saw him and thought, "It must be his angel" (Acts 12). Why such a nonchalant response? Because scripture is replete with references to angels and their intervention in our lives. Perry's father would command his angel to respond as a messenger, i.e. bring a prayer to pass. Very worth reading. Things you won't read about prayer anywhere else.

Don't pay attention to the one star review. That person must only know the milk of the word. This book is the meat of scripture. Perry Stone knows what he is talking about. This book will help all peoples as long as they chew on the concept of it. Meditate on the scriptures given. This book will change your life.

Opening The Gates Of Heaven: Walk in the Favor of Answered Prayer and Blessing, is a book about prayer. Perry draws from scripture and various other sources such as personal and family ministry experience, his dad's teachings, and more to give the reader a comprehensive teaching on the subject. The book consists of two hundred fifty-one pages and includes an introduction, seventeen chapters of text, a conclusion, and notes.

He starts out teaching about Jacob and his vision of a ladder or stairway that angels went from Heaven to earth upon. Next he teaches on gates and their significance upon our prayers. He likens the gates of the temple to our five senses. Perry shows that as believers we each are temples of the Holy Spirit and our senses are the gates of relating not only to the world but the Holy Spirit as well. Next he touches upon the types and number of spices used in the temple in the Old Testament and likens them to the eleven plus types of prayer referred to in the New Testament. As you can see, Perry goes into a great deal of detail in this book. I'm not going to outline everything he went over as why then would you read the book for yourself?

There are some things Perry writes that people will argue over so my suggestion is, read the book, then search the scriptures and rely on the Holy Spirit to guide you into all truth as Jesus tells us He will in the Bible.
