A timeless classic!,
By Tom Tweed (La Jolla, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Opening to the Light: Weekly Meditations on Messages from Near-Death Experiences (Paperback)
I knew very little about near-death experiences before reading this book, but it inspired me to look into the subject more deeply. It is a fascinating area on the edge of human experience. The connections the author makes between them and meditative/spiritual transcendental experiences throughout history, from all traditions, are simple, elegant and profound. The illustrations are beautiful and thought-provoking, inserting natural scenes and objects ranging from the very small to the very large to accompany each week's entry. It is something to be savored slowly, though you could read it in a day--a blueprint for a year's worth of contemplation and quiet meditation that could not help but improve one's attitude and approach to life, with all it's travails and joys, if taken to heart and practiced.

If one is looking for thought-provoking inspiration, this book can be an aid to that end. These writings are from people who actually died and came back to share what's really important.
