About the Author

Tera Thomas has been working as a professional Animal Communicator since 1996, offering consultations for people and their animals, and teaching workshops to assist others to reawaken their own ability to communicate with animals. She is Founder and President of Hummingbird Farm, an educational nonprofit organization dedicated to deepening the understanding, respect, communication, and relationship between all living beings and the natural world around us.

This wonderful book will change the way you look at life! In it, Tera Thomas takes us on a personal journey where we can learn for ourselves -- what animals have taught her.
Written with alot of openness, heart and humor, it is the story of her development as an animal communicator. It is filled with delightful stories of animals she has known, unforgettable characters who impart tremendous wisdom about the meaning of life and death, and the importance of acceptance. And, because of what these special beings (animals and Tera) share with the reader, I finished the book with a much greater acceptance of life -- and self -- than when I had first begun.
It is a very spiritual book, with much to be gleaned from within its pages.
You can't help but feel as if you have, if not flown, then certainly stretched your wings a bit. To be savored again and again.

I don't know who I love more, Tera Thomas or the wonderful animals she has shared her journey with. Tera Thomas' book is so full of life. Her life, filled with success, challenges, courage, heart-break and tons of love is so inspiring. Her writing is warm, open and honest. She is also humourous and compassionate. I highly recommend this book!

In 'Opening My Wings to Fly' Tera Thomas displays a rare and rich talent for conveying deeply felt emotions with clarity and dignity. Her journey from the concrete jungle of NYC to the North Carolina forests will give you courage to follow your own heart's path. Some of the animal friends she makes along the way will stay with you long after you finish reading the book. Thomas' heartlight shines brightly through these pages and stories. A great read.
