Book Description

January 1, 2003 The New Inductive Study Series

The exciting New Inductive Study Series (more than 880,000 copies sold) was created by Kay Arthur for people who long to immerse themselves in God’s Word but need a 15–minutes–a–day resource to match their busy lifestyles.

This exciting study focuses on Zecharaiah, Malachi, and Haggai, three prophets who shared God’s messages of instruction and discipline and also words of encouragement and hope. Exploring these books of the Bible provides an insightful study of God’s communication, character, and blessings.

Using Kay Arthur’s inductive study method, the truths of these Old Testament books inspire readers to hear God’s message, become obedient, and share in the living hope of a Father who clearly conveys the promise of great blessings.

5.0 out of 5 stars How do you open the windows of blessing for your life?, September 25, 2005
This review is from: Opening the Windows of Blessing: Haggai, Zechariah, Malachi (The New Inductive Study Series) (Paperback)
The blessings you want in your life come from God so the answer to that question comes from His Word. This book guides you to discover what Jeremiah 29:11 truly means in your life: "'For I know the plans that I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.'"

As you are guided through this study one day at a time, the authors assist you in building a good grasp of the historical setting of the books to be studied. What the authors do not do is try to interpret for you what God's Word is saying to you. They intelligently and competently lead you through the books by asking questions that you will have to answer for yourself from your study of God's Word.

The book guides you through an inductive study of these Bible books by having you observe what Bible passages say. You are given suggestions for marking the Scriptures in a way that helps you to see how the different elements tie together and relate to each other and the message as a whole. You are guided to observe what the chapter is about, who are the main characters, when does the event or teaching take place, where does this happen, why is it being done or said, and how did it happen.

You are then asked questions that will allow you to interpret the Scriptures for yourself and to meditate upon what it means in your life. You are also encouraged to memorize certain Scriptures in order that you may "store up His Word in your heart that you might not sin against Him."

Finally, questions are posed that will help you to bring about the application of the Scriptures in your life.

Each day's assignment is brief enough that you should be able to complete it in one day, but if you have time restrictions, there is no difficulty in adjusting the study to fit your schedule. The book is clearly written and easy to understand and is designed for either group or individual study.

I've never been disappointed by any study book that Kay Arthur has been involved in and this one is no exception.

I was expecting something like what Beth Moore writes, this was nothing. It's short and you can't read the charts the writing is so small. It doesn't go into much detail either. If you are looking for a deep Bible study I wouldn't recommend this.
