This review is from: Soap Opera Divas Paper Dolls (Dover Celebrity Paper Dolls) (Paperback)
Tom Tierney delivers an excellent series of paper dolls in this set devoted to daytime's soap opera stars. The dolls are great; each one really resembles the actress they are meant to depict. And many of the costumes are wonderful. Linda Dano, Ruth Warrick, Susan Flannery and Robin Strasser are among the dolls really depicted in glamorous garb. The only criticism I could have is that a few of the costumes aren't truly glamorous. A couple get a second costume consisting of fairly plain pants, blouse and jacket; sparkly trim, fur, or lamé could have spiced them up. And with 16 dolls, there isn't a single one representing daytime's longest running show, "Guiding Light." Not including Kim Zimmer as Reva Shayne Lewis in her famous red sequined dress is an oversight. But even with these shortcomings, I believe this is an excellent set and a good tribute to the hard-working actresses who've brought fans to their soaps for decades.
