This is the 2nd.copy of this recording we have purchased, as we have almost worn the other one out playing it in the car! It's wonderful to hear so many of our favourite opera stars such as Placido, Sherrill Milnes, Monserrat Caballe,Shirley Verrett and Marilyn Horne singing on one C.D.It is an excellently compiled disc and one we spend many happy hours listening to.

Sound quality excellent. All the big names in the big orchestras; some have said this is rather old hat. I am too new to opera for that.Far and away the most loved of my opera survey albums. Fortunate enough to buy new on sale here at Amazon.

Excellent opera selections. Good range of different operas. The singers themselves are well known. Highly recommended to anyone getting into classical music.
