5.0 out of 5 stars Great candles and good price
I bought these candles for my wedding since our venue won't allow flame. I ordered several different brands to try in order to see which LED candle is most realistic, and was most impressed with these. They are still orange, but these are less bright orange than others I tried, and they only lightly flicker, so they look much more realistic than some of the bright...

3.0 out of 5 stars Battery Operated Tealight Candles
Nice item, very safe, Don't pay more then a Dollar for 4, I just went to the dollar store today, and got a hoard of them (20) for 5$ -Oh, and Like the batteries found in dollar store laser pointers, the batteries in these candle-lights when purchased separately, will run you 9$ each. So don't buy batteries for them, just go get new candle-lights.

I ordered several different brands to try in order to see which LED candle is most realistic, and was most impressed with these. They are still orange, but these are less bright orange than others I tried, and they only lightly flicker, so they look much more realistic than some of the bright orange flashing lights I got. The battery life is also great. I really like these candles and would recommend them.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love these candles, October 11, 2007

When taking my honey on a romantic trip to a B&B, I like to decorate the hot tub (bath) with candles. But due to fire department codes and laws, real candles are not allowed. But these are great. In a votive holder, you can't tell the difference. I also use these at outdoor parties on the beach. You can't use wax candles on the beach with even the slightest breeze, but these work terrifically. They're small, easy to store and the replacement batteries are cheap!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product for the price!, December 27, 2007

These candles are soo convenient! When you want pretty flickering light thru your voltives (mine are ruby cut glass) you simply slide the switch on the bottom to on - AND FORGET THEM! No worrying if they will burn down and crack the glass or catch on fire or burn little kids if left unattended. I found them to be as bright if not brighter than standard metal encased tea lights - especially brighter than when they burn down into the metal cup. With shipping I paid less than a dollar and a half each for a dozen tealights! How can you beat that! I'm ready to buy more flameless candles in other sizes. I'm sure I could get fancier ones for more money, but for the purpose - hidden in a colored voltive, they're perfect!

I was hoping to use these LED lights instead of real candles in some paper lanterns I plan on using as centerpieces. Unfortunately, they are so dim you can barely tell they're in there at all- see the customer image I uploaded. I don't think you can really tell they're on at all unless you're looking directly at them, and I'm not sure why you'd want them displayed where you could see the "naked flame" since it's not very attractive.

These also don't seem to be the exact item described by the listing. (Ordered from Lily's Home, fulfilled by Amazon) They didn't have a soft silicone tip as the description states- it was hard plastic. Maybe the ones other sellers are shipping are better?

4.0 out of 5 stars Just like a pretend candle flame, January 7, 2008

In our house, with our 3-year old boy, these are a must.

Flicker very realistically, but stay room temperature (must be an LED inside).

I gave these a less-than-perfect score because they're a little on the dim side. Seem dimmer than a real candle flame. Enough light to appear to be a candle from across the room, though.

These lights work great in a lot of situations. Not sure when the other reviews were written but the shipping I was charged was $6.95 which I thought was reasonable.

We got married on a ranch on May 22nd and wanted to hang lanterns throughout the orchard. We chose LED candles because it meant we could leave them on for the whole day without having to send someone out to light them all when it got dark. However, the rain came... and I was sure that all the candles were dead. But when the sun went down, every single one was still working and giving off an amazing glow! It was absolutely magical. The candles have a beautiful orange glow, which works much better if you use a diffuser of some sort (linen, or a frosted candle holder.) Great price and sturdy! We ended up giving the lanterns away as wedding favors. Awesome!

5.0 out of 5 stars I've had these a while and love them!, April 5, 2009

I initially bought these for use on a cruise I was going on. Open flame is extremely dangerous on a ship and is almost completely forbidden. The candles were the perfect alternative to provide a romantic atmosphere without putting the entire ship's crew in danger.

When I got home from the cruise, I realized the battery-powered candles were far more useful than for just that one trip. Because you can turn them on and off, they are great for instant-atmosphere whenever you want, without risking that when you fall asleep the entire house will burn down around you.

Also, they are great in emergencies! I put little lights all the way down the stairs and it provides perfect light for safely moving around the house. They are incredibly useful. You put them strategically around rooms to help you guide your way through them. Yes, you have a flashlight too, but the little candles are almost all you need.

Highly recommended. Every house should have one for emergency use, never mind for romantic evenings!

2.0 out of 5 stars super dim lights, October 31, 2010
This review is from: Set of 12 Battery Operated Realistic Flickering Flame Tealight Candles Flameless / Smokeles
I bought them to use in my jack-o-lantern this year so to avoid any pumpkin fires, but they are so dim, even when you first turn them on, that I wound up having to put a few lights in every pumpkin. Not nearly as bright as a candle, and very finicky too, to actually turn on. I wouldn't buy them again, but I will use these until they die.
