5.0 out of 5 stars Get this movie in Cantonese with subtitles!, January 12, 2009
This review is from: Operation Condor / Operation Condor 2: The Armour Of The Gods (DVD)
I love this movie, but I have to say that if you are going to get it, make sure you get a copy that is in cantonese. The english version made for america has a random nude scene inserted, and it cuts two of the funniest scenes in the movie. It is well worth reading the subtitles to see those two scenes.

4.0 out of 5 stars The sequel better than the first?, June 10, 2010

This review is from: Operation Condor / Operation Condor 2: The Armour Of The Gods (DVD)
This double DVD package is probably only for ardent Jackie Chan fans. First off Operation Condor is actually the sequel to The Armour of God no matter what the cover tells you. Next Operation Condor to me is the more entertaining movie from start to finish, with Jackie Chan's usual mix of great stunts, balletic fight scenes, and slapstick humor. The Armour of God has that as well just not enough of it. But what the Armour of God does have that all Jackie Chan fans must see (if they haven't already viewed dozens of times) is the final fight scene between Jackie and (spoiler alert) what I can only assume is a Sister Sledge tribute band in high heels and corsets. Yes I know that it his stunt team doing the actual dangerous fighting and stunts and that the actual women were probably only in the close shots. That makes it even funnier to me knowing that possibly Mars, Ken Lo, or Rocky Li were dressed in a bustier, stockings and heels while fighting and falling is amazing.

Both movies are great. The first one funnier than the second but knowing me, I can't say no to any Jackie Chan films.
This is worth the purchase if you ask me.
Lots of action, comedy and much more. Gotta love it! :)

5.0 out of 5 stars These are one of Jackie's best movies!, January 12, 2012

If you are a fan of Jackie Chan you should definitively see these movies. If you're not a fan, then you don't like action movies or you don't know Jackie Chan movies well enough. What I like about Jackie Chan movies is that all the fight scenes are engineered by him in a very creative way, but it seems very natural. Notice that most fighting scenes nowadays have shots that last less then 1 sec, but in Jackie's movies they last MUCH longer and don't seem fake like in Bruce Lees movies or most action movies. Of course, no one could fight like that in real life but it seems like its possible, especially due to the little cuts in between the scenes. Jackie should receive much more credit then what he has, but he was unfortunate to enter the American movies industry late because his talent would have been best boosted nowadays with all the modern equipment and cinema knowledge. Instead, he wasted a great deal of potential while doing movies in the 70s and early 80s in the Chinese movie industry, which was only beginning to develop and people had no clue how to do movies. However, these two movies are very good despite being Chinese, but it's in a period where the Chinese learned how to do movies better by absorbing American techniques. Buy it, it's worth it! One of his best movies!

The movie came to me in lightning speed, great service. And the first movie is so funny the second movie is quite lame. I would use this service again.
