Operation Devils Fire is an exciting, fast moving book that puts the reader back in time during WWII. Munstermann's research and knowledge of military life during wartime makes his writing very realistic.
He places the reader directly into the heat of battle. This is the most realistic war book I've read in a long time. His description of "dogfights" and of the French resistance adds reality to the novel.
The numerous facts, as well as characters from real-life including Winston Churchill, President Roosevelt and Adolph Hitler, are extremely important to the story.
Once I began reading I didn't want to put the book down. I read it in two sittings.

Operation Devil's Fire is a great read...fast paced, action packed and easy to read. If you like WWII adventure yarns you'll love this. I can't wait to see the authors next offering. It's no secret writers usually get better the more they write so his next one should be a tour de force.

I loved this book. It is a novel about two Ranger outfits, one from the U.S., the other from the U.K. It also encompasses our air force as well. The book moved beautifully and with each "cut" or each new chapter, the author immediately familiarized the reader with who "Dunn" was or who "Cook" was. There was no going back in the book to refresh one's memory. The missions were realistic and exciting and had credibility as we read where they all weren't successful. It's a good strong book about WW11 and we get to meet F.D.R., Churchill, Donovan from the OSS, etc. I would recommend it for anyone who enjoys realistic and captivating war stories.

Operation Devil's Fire is a great story using a blend of historical facts, figures and places combined with an intriguing "what if" situation in WWII. This is the type of book that you make time to finish. The characters are well developed and their back-story is brought quickly into focus. It's exciting and the factual aspects propel the story rather than slow it down. You'll feel like you're shoulder to shoulder with the next man in line hearing distant gunfire and smelling smoke. I continually recommend this book. A very enjoyable read!

I am torn by this book It started out well. Lots of suspense, a believable plot but here comes the spoiler alert.

The book describes a series of reaids by Allied Commandos on very sensitive German facilities but then makes tthe raids ludicrous. Imagine a nuclear weapons facility guarded by only 10 men or another top secret site guarded by only 2 men. It reminds me of the propaganda war films of the'50s. The Germans are all bumbling idiots against the noble and heroic allied commandos. Everything always fall into place for the good guys and any advantage the Germans have is achieved inspite of their incompetence.

I only gie it 2 stars becasue it begins so well but then it deteriorates into a comic book plot.

I have always been fascinated by the advances in aviation technology that took place in Germany during WW2.
I am fortunate enough also to have seen the sole surviving Horten flying Wing which is in storage at a Smithsonian storage facility in Maryland outside Washington DC . When I found a book that blends the story of a prototype six jet Horten Flying Wing, Germany in the latter part of WW2 and a possible German Atomic bomb the story attracted my interest immediately. I read it over the course of two days, the pace of the story along with the characters held my interest from beginning to end. Hollywood should definately consider turning this story into a movie.

I just finished the book and I enjoyed it not just because it was a great book but why I think so. First most World War II fiction novels have the main character(s) being a officer(s), not this book the main characters are Sergeants. As a retired Army NCO this made me feel good. The author said at the end of the book the Horton aircraft is real and the German Atomic Bomb program was too. The other thing I enjoyed was the fact that while the two NCO's and their troops were competing against each other, when it came time for a mission they were one team, as it should be. This makes another of the 99 cent books that to me is much better than many that cost me much more. Since this book ends not long after the Normandy landings I hope the author has a sequal in mind. Well done.

This was a very good book. You are exposed to a set of plans that could give the Germans a stunning victory in World War II. The Americans and British intelligence services have turned up some
disturbing information about Germany gaining the ability to create an atomic bomb. There has also been information about the Nazis being able to construct a super bomber that has the ability to
fly to America. A fear arises that the Nazis could drop an atomic weapon on New York or Washington D.C. The British fear that the Nazis will use the the jet and the bomb on their country. The
allied forces have to enact a plan. They decide to call upon the Army Rangers led by Sgt. Thomas Dunn and the British special forces led by Sgt. Malcolm Sanders. One of these teams is assigned the task of destroying the super jet and the other team is given the job of destroying the nuclear facility. All of this covert activity will occur behind enemy lines. The allied effort is given
little chance of sucess. With odds like these you have the potential for an exciting book. Be sure to read this one.
