Book Description

Battletech August 1, 1996
The Mercenary code was broken by the Gray Death Legion during their desperate fighting on the planet Caledonia. At least, that is the ruling of the courts. And the judges decide to hit below the belt - Grayson Carlyle, revered leader of the now outlawed mercenary band, is stripped of his title and holdings, and the legion is banished from Glengarry, the planet they've called home for years.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quite excellent, November 10, 1998

I loved this book! I liked the fact that Grayson and Lori came back into the picture as the major characters, and man, Lori kicked some serious FedCom butt, especially with the Apollo! I loved the subtle manipulations that were going on throughout the book, how all the sides were busy, but you didn't know who was with who until almost the end of the book. The battles were fantastic, and the fact that the last hundred pages were chock full of fighting was a great bonus. Personally, I can't wait for the next book to come out so we can all read about the exploits of the Gray Death Legion. Especially to see how they stand with Katherine Stiener Davion and the Lyran Alliance when the lid is blown off about Melissa Steiner's death/murder.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pure Battletech Goodness, November 20, 2000

I read this one a while ago, but all I remember about the book is how much it rocked. Lots of action, and it kept your brain thinking. If you're a Battletechie (like me), read Tactics of Duty (another great book) then you'll definately want to read this one. I'm wondering why Keith hasn't written another one yet. Right now, I can't wait for it!
