This review is from: Operation Iraqi Freedom (War in Iraq) (Library Binding)
This book is out of date - do not purchase if your goal is to get an unbiased, comprehensive opinion on the war.
There is no mention of September 11, an obvious factor in Bush's decision (and the reason, however misguided, America went along with it) to go to war. The book talks about the war like it is already over. This book was published in 2004. It's six years later, and today (March 19, 2010), we mark the 7th year anniversary of America's war in Iraq.
The last bullet in the timeline is for May 1 2003 - "President Bush announced major U.S. military operations in Iraq over"
If only it were true.
There is a "Cost of War" section - and sadly, only covers monetary costs. There is no estimate of American, Coalition, and Iraqi loss of life. (ICasualties reports 4703 for US and Coalition forces casualities so far and Iraq Body Count reports at least 90,000 Iraqis.)
This book is BS - no mention of protest, of public opinion..no mention of the mass graves found all over Iraq.
Do not get this book. If you need information for a report, please search newspapers, magazines, and trusted websites.
