4.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful holiday romance -- Highly recommended, October 15, 2002
This review is from: Operation: Mistletoe : The Special Agents (Harlequin Superromance No. 1096) (Paperback)
Sara Hanrahan returns home to Ryansville on a mission; one that she cannot share even with the local deputy, Nathan Roswell. Three years with the Drug Enforcement Administration and three previous to that as a cop have honed her skills for keeping her identity secret. OPERATION: MISTLETOE sparkles with holiday joy as once again author Roxanne Rustand demonstrates her gift for capturing the essence of relationships with rich complexity and intriguing possibility. Sara's family story proves both shocking and fascinating as it complicates her relationship with her mother and brother, and overshadows her return to her hometown. Further, the growing romance between Sara and Nathan proves to be compelling and touching as an intriguing plot unfolds. Secondary plots also capture the imagination with surprising secondary characters readers will come to love. OPERATION: MISTLETOE comes highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mistletoe, October 10, 2002

Roxanne has written another winner. Her characters wind their way into our hearts. Sara has overcome a troubled past but is now being sent back to her hometown as an expierenced DEA Agent. This secretive operation has set her at odds with Nathan the local law enforcement. There is a chemistry that begins to build between the two. Each character is carefully entertwined into the story to bring us to the climax and a family's dark secret is revealed. Yet the conflict between the two main charaters isn't resolved until the very last two pages.
Roxanne is a master at her craft. Don't miss her "operation" books

4.0 out of 5 stars exciting holiday romance, November 9, 2002
This review is from: Operation: Mistletoe : The Special Agents (Harlequin Superromance No. 1096) (Paperback)
DEA agent Sara Hanrahan returns to her hometown to investigate potential drug trafficking. Sara works undercover so she cannot share her mission with anyone even though she would like to shout how far she has come from living down her father's crime and an estranged relationship with her mother.

Deputy Nathan Roswell still receives family pressure to forget this childish cops and robber middle class job and join one of the companies they own. However, Nathan refuses to accept a soft desk job because he likes what he does. Nathan finds himself interested in the mysterious Sara in both a professional and personal way though she avoids him as if he had the plague. He plans to find out why, unaware that his actions could place both of them in danger. Though the attraction between them is strong, Sara still plans to leave town when the job is done.

OPERATION: MISTLETOE is an exciting holiday romance that emphasizes dysfunctional family relationships. The story line captures the audience's attention because like Nathan, readers will be intrigued by the independent confident Sara. Though there are too many secondary subplots that introduce apparently future characters, fans of contemporary romance with a sprinkle of a police procedural within the plot will want to read Roxanne Rustand's enjoyable tale.
