Format: Paperback
Her TV career ended with her marriage though she has hopes to resuscitate the former while letting the latter remain dead. Still while waiting for a fresh opportunity, Ali Spencer return to Nashville to help her aunt save the family owned Spencer School of Etiquette.

Wealthy Erica wants to make it into the highest social circles. However, she believes she needs a social makeover of her boyfriend Detective Hunter Coleman if she is to achieve her goal. He is tired of Erica's inane ranting that he holds her back from climbing the ladder. Thus Hunter enrolls in the Spencer School's class "Manners Makeover" that has Titans as alumni. When Ali the teacher and Hunter the student meet, she thinks he is fine the way he is. Hunter wants to be the teacher's pet while Ali knows she must remain professionally aloof from her favorite pupil. As Erica hunts for a better social prospect, Ali and Hunter fall in love.

This is a warm Tennessee waltz starring two likable lead characters who agree that Hunter should follow his basic instincts of his heart. The story line is character driven by the lead couple, but enhanced by support players like her aunt and Erica. Fans who enjoy a low keyed realistic contemporary will want to read Operation Prince Charming.

Hunter Coleman is a typical guy's guy - he loves sports, his job as a Nashville detective, and his girlfriend. Well, he loved the woman his girlfriend used to be, before a windfall inheritance turned Erica from a caring nurse into a shallow, ruthless social climber and snob-in-the-making. He doesn't fit her new image, so she sends him for a Manners Makeover at the Spencer School of Etiquette.

Enter Ali Spencer. Once a successful South Florida newpaper columnist, author, and almost television personality, her messy divorce led to a smear campaign by her ex-husband and former best friend. The best friend used to be her personal assistant before Ali caught her in bed with hubby. Leaving Florida and the scandal behind, Ali returns to Nashville in order to recover and to save the family business.

The sparks fly immediately - Ali is captivated by Hunter's easygoing personality and killer looks. Hunter is intrigued by the pink-clad beauty when she drops her guard, which isn't often. Still, Hunter feels loyalty, if not love, for Erica. Being burned by a messy divorce and determined to never be a homewrecker, Ali resists Hunter as well. However, all bets are off when Hunter realizes the old Erica is gone for good. But can he get Ali to leave her fears behind and give love another chance?

I really enjoyed this story! The characters and their personalities leap off the page, and Ms. Phyllis sure knows how to make her readers laugh-out-loud with some great dialogue, like when Hunter calls Erica out on her new interest in art:

"Up until a few months ago, your only piece of art was an oil painting of Prince wearing purple butt-out pants."

She hooked me with that line! I'd recommend this read for romance junkies - the steamy shower scene is delish!

This story was a really nice romantic summer read. I felt the chemistry between the lead characters; Hunter and Ali share an honesty and sweetness that endeared me to the story. The secondary characters kept the story moving in a funny and freshing way. We all need friends that will tell us the truth. I like that Hunter really understood and started getting use out of charm school. When he starts using his new skills my heart cheered for him; a cop in charm school. There is a lesson being taught in this book, money cannot buy status/class and friends. You will not be disappointed if you buy this book.

Operation Prince Charming is DEFINITELY a sweet & CHARMING read...Hunter is quite the Knight-in-Shining Armour...and Ali is little Miss Manners but still very down to earth...I so enjoy the camaraderie between Ali, Hunter, Sandy, Pete and the boys...dinner at the Jameson home was a HOOT...LOL...and when Hunter fails his 4-star restaurant test because he was STARVING...now that was FUNNY and cute...a REFRESHING and enjoyable romance with an INTRIGUING mystery on the side...looking forward to the next book from Phyllis Bourne.

OMG! What can I not say without giving to much of the story. First Hunter is the kind of man every woman needs, he is sweet and loyal. He will have you back to the end, even after you let him down. Erica is a slut-monkey trying to be something that she's not, letting money change her and tried to change Hunter. (But he's not having it, well not to much lol) You can't send a real man to school to become prince charming when he is already a king. But he go to make the slutmonkey happy lol, and he meet a angel name Ali. She is everything Erica not and could never be. This story is sweet and will keep you guessing to the end about what going to happy next. Miss Phyllis is now a author I will keep my eye out for.

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were likable and real, and the storyline had a message, but wasn't overpowering. Showed that money can't buy class and that love can conquer any obstacle. Very well-written and loved the minor characters as much as the main characters. Hated when the book came to an end. Overall a great read!
