Book Description

PLEASE BE ADVISED: This Book 1 of The Time To Tell series continues into Book 2 and is a controversial work of historical fiction involving domestic and worldly problems.

* * * * Nationally recognized ForeWord Clarion Reviews ranks Operation Wolfe Cub with 4 out of 5 stars.

The Time To Tell begins in 1944. A plan is hatched inside of Germany in the pursuit of peace for a thousand years. A young baby boy is whisked away in the night, identifiable only by the anklet he wears on his leg and the markings he bears on his head. In the dead of night in a most unusual storm he is put on a vessel headed for the safety of America. And with him is carried the fate of mankind.

Eddie Coolidge is a disabled American veteran who is unable to provide his wife Chantain with children…until the day he finds a mysterious baby washed ashore from a shipwreck near his home. Hoping against hope that this is the child he has always wished for, he takes the baby boy home to his wife. While at first elated, they soon begin to discover clues about the child’s origin as they watch in awe as he begins to demonstrate uncanny abilities…

A thought-provoking work of historical science fiction, H. C. Wells’s debut of his The Time To Tell series is a fascinating look at America's history and the possible, hidden truths behind it.

A taut, well-paced thriller full of intrigue and almost unbearable suspense, Wells captures your attention from the novel’s opening action sequence and never relents, always staying two steps ahead with intricate plotting marked by sharp turns and surprising twists. A razor sharp ear for time and place lend authenticity, and the marvel of weaving a fictional tale infused by magical realism within true events is nothing short of astonishing. Full of gusto and quiet unease, Operation Wolfe Cub will have you questioning your beliefs and rethinking the meaningful moments of the past seventy years.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Read!! February 5, 2013
Format:Paperback
I had the opportunity to read this book prior to it becoming available on Amazon and it is FANTASTIC. With so many books coming out in droves these days, it's refreshing to see a storyline that hasn't been done ten times over. The originality of the plot and the interesting (and slightly shocking) characters kept me reading. I hate to write too much because I don't want to give anything away, but basically the story follows a child who comes to the U.S. from Germany during WWII as part of some larger plan. As you read on, you find the child is not only special in the sense he is part of an important plan, but that he also harbors seemingly supernatural abilities. If you enjoy the idea of an alternate version of history that is accurate enough in its facts to be plausible, then this one's for you. Highly recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Operation Wolfe Cub February 22, 2013

I can't say enough about this book. In the beginning of the story I could not put it down. The first page started a path, that was intensified as I could feel the icy rain on my face as I did take my tongue to wipe off the cold wet rain. The descriptions is one of the best I have ever read. As soon as I started I was captivated by the writing. I feel the heat in my chest as I run beside the characters, knowing I must also push harder. Many questions run through my mind at the beginning of this read. As the words come alive I can feel, I can hear, I can smell as the words are alive, viviid and I am caught in the story. But I do not feel I am reading a story but an actor in the advent that is happeing. I find myself running beside them, feeling the cold, peering into the rain and blustering wind. The heavy darkness and the rain blurs my vision but I to, strain as the words come alive and dance before me to see the ship. I adjust my eyes to see into the darkness, searching, longing to see, as my heart pounds as it has got to be their.... Another part I can feel the warm heat when I touch the infants leg and wonder...... This is a wonderful book and I don't want it to end as it is very fascinating. The imagination and description is one I recognize as my memories bring back such a time. This book well rise to the top and be a best seller quickly. I am ready for book 2. You well not be disappointed in this one. This is one, of a few books when you start reading, you well not want it to end. Each page you turn is more adventure and more desire to read more as you desire to know more. The questions mount as you wonder.......

5.0 out of 5 stars Waiting for the movie!? May 27, 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Gets all the stars we can give it!

My hubby and I both read this book at the same time so we could review and discuss it. The author pulled us both in and we were absorbed until the very end. A previous reviewer mentioned that the story seemed to end abruptly, but for us, it only whets the appetite for more. It was such a fun read, but with a powerful message hidden within the story line. If you are into just Science Fiction...it works. If you are into Biblical prophecy and hidden meanings...it also works, i.e., shades of Tim LaHaye and the "Left Behind" and "The End" series. We also appreciated the author's use of historical fact while building a story of suspense leading us into the future.

We were intrigued by the early chapters involving World War II Germany and its little-known anti-Hitler underground; people who risked all for "faith" and a better future. Hubby was amazed at the author's knack for such descriptive writing that at times he felt he was observing it first hand. We're talking a mysterious vessel, a baby whisked from country-to-country, a shipwreck, survival, the unfolding of extraordinary moral and spiritual insight, and that is only the first book!

We highly recommend this book and we are anxiously awaiting Book Two of the continuing series. Maybe even a movie? Nancy & Jerry B.

5.0 out of 5 stars Refreshing! February 6, 2013
Format:Paperback
I started reading this story and couldn't put it down! It pulled me in and took me through twists I didn't expect. The characters are unforgettable, the suspense unpredictable and the unique story line winds you through twists and turns that will keep you guessing. This tale was written with all of the detail I look for in any historical adventure. But what is even more surprising for me was the element of compassion and nurturing in this story. These two elements give it a simple human quality that thrives through turmoil and heartache...It was refreshing to read a book with a combination of surprise that is based on a historical event I already knew so much about!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great theme May 16, 2013
Format:Paperback
"Operation Wolfe Cub: The Time to Tell" has a fascinating science fiction plot with lots of action and a developing theme that leaves the reader craving to know more about how a unique youngster growing up in a quiet little town in Maine at the end of World War II is going to play a role in bringing about world peace for the next thousand years. I'm admittedly not a big science fiction fan, but H.C. Wells demonstrates writing talent for weaving action, humor, religion, power and meticulously researched historic content into a uniquely serious topic. The book offers readers a glimpse into the possible future of our troubled world along with a theme that may also provide them with hope for the planet's inhabitants as the series continues. It's worth checking out.
