5.0 out of 5 stars Well written resource book, July 16, 2003

This review is from: Operations Management (Hardcover)
The book covers all the related subjects in operations management. Colorful charts, tables and new photos provide reader an enjoyable read. At the end of each chapter there are both verbal and quantitative questions which test your understanding. Also, some chapters have "supplement" sections that describe how to solve quantitative problems in an excel spreadsheet. I strongly advise business students and sector employees to keep this book. It is a good reference.

A perfect new copy recieved of ed. 4. If you are in desperate need of yesterdays "news" - of which really none exist since year 2000 !! - take ed. 4. It presents all theories and practical guidance to the student and coming production manager.

5.0 out of 5 stars it is too costly compare to other titles available, August 24, 1999

It is good that u have entered that concept of competitiveness and compared data with japanese companies. But now it is necessary to apply concepts of operations management to service sectors more than to manufacturing sector as 85% of the usa employees work in service sector and 70% of the GDP comes from service sector.
