This review is from: Operations Management (Hardcover)
I bought this book because I needed to learn some operations management concepts, in order to solve some real life problems in my business. I'm not an engineer, my professional field is finance so I browsed Amazon looking for a book which complied with my requirements: easy to read, -and most important- easy to understand, and this book did comply. This book: -has lots of good examples, exercises and figures. -covers both strategic and tactical perspectives for a wide range of organizations between manufacturing and service. -provides an integrated aproach to OM, showing the relationship between OM and other key functions such as finance, marketing or human resources, which is a fantastic plus. -complies with two simple criteria which most people seek in a book: is easy to read and to understand. Although is a little bit expensive, I must highlight this simple fact about it, is useful for real life problem-solving. I sincerely recommend it.

Have been using the 3rd edition with my students for the last couple of years and they find it helpful. The examples are clear and the Cases at the end of the chapter help understand the concepts better.

As Expected,

The book is as expected. I needed it for an Operations Analysis class and while it is rather informative, it is on par with most of the books I've seen about Statistical Analysis and Operations Management. So, while it's not spectacular, it's nothing to complain about either. The book presents the formulas and information in a way that someone with a basic understanding of statistics would understand.
