3.0 out of 5 stars Student Review, July 19, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Operations Management (Hardcover)
I'm about half way through the book. I will update my review after I finish the book. For a highly quantitative subject matter like operations management, it reads like a history book. For the most part, if you can get through the explanation, you will understand the mechanics of the calculations. The chapters are dense with many concepts and functional formulas and calculations. It even goes into explanation of how to do calculations in excel. However, the book does jump around from topic to topic. You won't have a clear picture of what operations management really is from this book. You will walk away with fragments of knowledge. This book serves as an introduction to decision making, forecasting, etc.

5.0 out of 5 stars International version as Good as any other!, October 18, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Operations Management (Hardcover)
I got the international version of this book and it is exactly the same (from the comparisions I have done with classmates) as the American hardback version. I would not buy the book for fun, but for class it is good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book for on-line class!, December 9, 2010
This review is from: Operations Management (Hardcover)
I used this book for my MGMT 370 class. I found it very useful, being that I was not in class. The book taught me the material very well and I relied on it a lot. I was never good at statistics which is a pre-req for this class I just finished, but the book had me understanding better than my math class. I would highly recommend this book to students and teachers because I feel like I learned a lot from it. The examples were clear, and the definitions were easy to understand.
