Not the best use of your time,

This review is from: Operative Neurosurgical Anatomy (Fossett, Operative Neurosurgical Anatomy) (Hardcover)
As a neurosurgery resident we have limited time and money. Unfortunately, this book is not the best use of your time even though the price is appealing (hence me buying the book/writing this review). There are several sections that have excellent photographs and are well done but there are inconsistencies between sections. More attention in general was paid to the intracranial sections and a lot was lacking from the spine sections. A general, entry level neurosurgical operative atlas should at least have locations for pedicle screws and the associated surgical landmarks for locating their entry points. I was hoping for a little bit more but then again this book only cost $80.

I am a 4 year resident of neurosurgeryI did like this book, it's not so complete but for it's price you can't ask for more. It has very nice images and explains well how you do the approach. |
