diagnostic review,
By A Customer
This review is from: Ophthalmic Diagnosis & Treatment (Paperback)
Excellent source for diagnosis and management. Includes signs, symptoms and specific diagnostic tests for all the common, and some less common, eye diseases. Interesting "holistic" approach for treatment and management options including pharmacologic, nonpharmacologic, and dietarty/lifestyle prescriptions. It should replace Wills' as a first reference for primary care providers.

This review is from: Ophthalmic Clinical Advisor: Diagnosis and Treatment, 2e (Paperback)
As an eye care practitioner I was greatly disappointed with this book. Many topics are left out including common ones like hordeola and chalazia for example. Information is not always current or accurate for example corneal abrasions are not pressure patched most of the time but bandaged with contact lenses. This book needs broader scope of coverage and more accurate information. Shame on the editors. This does not always represent 2008 standard of care. I would return this book in a heartbeat if I didn't already take the shrink wrap off.I disagree with the previous reviewer for Primary Care Docs. Wills and Mass. Eye and Ear Infirmary still blow this book away with accuracy and completeness. Do NOT replace them with this book. You'll be sorry. |
