A solid, unique reference book.,
By Danny (San Francisco) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Ophthalmology Secrets (Secrets Series) (Paperback)
This book is unique among the myriad of ophthalmology texts. It is in the form of question and answer. I find that retention of relevant information compliments this approach. Reading in this style is pleasurable. This is one book I do not regret purchasing.

A must read for the oral boards,

This review is from: Ophthalmology Secrets: Questions You Will Be Asked, in the office, in the OR, on Oral Exams (Paperback)
This book is a real gem for any trainee in ophthalmology. I read it initially as a medical student, and then again for the oral boards. Without a doubt, this is the most concise book for the orals, and many of the questions that I was asked were well reviewed by the authors of this book. It made my orals a snap!

This review is from: Ophthalmology Secrets: Questions You Will Be Asked, in the office, in the OR, on Oral Exams (Paperback)
This is a good book designed for studying for board or oral exams, covering a wide range of ophthalmic disorders. Its sole weaknesses are: (1) Paucity of information in a few questions that can lead the reader astray when narrowing down the possible diagnoses, (2) An odd selection of questions on topics such as optics and color vision, with partially correct or simplistic answers. The book would be better if the author had restricted its scope to disease, which is its area of strength.

Great Help!,

This review is from: Ophthalmology Secrets: Questions You Will Be Asked, in the office, in the OR, on Oral Exams (Paperback)
If you learn well by being asked questions, this is the book for you! As a student, it has given me great insight as to what is important to the clinician's mind (rather than a laundry list to memorize for exams). I enjoyed the practicality of it, as well as the simplicity.
