Regarding Naturopathy's Essential Science-Ejected Vitalism:,
By Robert J. Cullen "'Dr. Bob Ironic'" (Bridgeport, CT) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Opportunities in Holistic Health Care Careers (Hardcover)
This book abundantly illustrates the central figment of naturopathy: the science-ejected concept of vitalism {'purposeful life spirit'}.
I quote:"naturopathic physician's use homeopathic treatments to strengthen the body's immune system to promote a lasting cure for health problems. Homeopathic therapies are medicines made from highly diluted natural substances, where the substance that produces symptoms in healthy adults cures those same symptoms in ill adults. The remedies work on the body's energy level to strengthen the life force energy [p.088]." Naturopathy's beliefs are triply science-ejected: vitalistic, spiritistic, and teleological. -r.c. |
