She specializes in health, relationships, sex issues and parenting. Westen has authored several books including her most recent, V IS FOR VAGINA: Your A-Z Guide to Periods, Piercings, Pleasure and So Much More,co-authored with Alyssa Dweck, OB GYN (Ulysses) as well as the bestselling YA biography of Oprah Winfrey I Don't Believe In Failure,(Enslow) noted in the Washington Examiner as one of Amazon's top children's bestsellers and Relationship Repair (Sterling Publishers). She was an Emmy-Award winning writer for the ABC Television women's health-oriented show FYI, a sex advice columnist (Sex Rx) for Woman's Own Magazine; she also wrote a weekly pop psychology quiz for Woman's World Magazine for over 18 years. Everyone loves Oprah but now I know the real reason why. This biography is one of my favorite books because it gives the real inside look at Oprah's life from the very beginning right up until now. It has pictures I've never seen before and gives information about Oprah's life in a way that makes it so interesting it's hard to put the book down. I recommend this book which doesn't take too long to read to anyone who loves Oprah or just wants to really find out about her life.

I've read a lot of books about Oprah, but this one stands out. It has new material that I'd never read before despite the plethora of biographic stuff I own on this amazing woman. Many of the photographs are new to me. I'm putting Westen's book at the head of my collection. It will be a while before any others come out that can compete. I recommend it highly. Before it goes out of print -- grab it.

This book about Oprah is really good. It tells the story of her life from the hard beginning when she was poor and a lot of bad things happened to her to now when she is famous and does really good things for other people. Oprah is more than a star. She cares about other people in this coutry and in other countries. This book makes you know how human she is and lets you in on stuff you might not know. Even though it is easy to read, it is still very interesting. The pictures are also very good.
