I bought two of these for my older Cannon video camera. I took them down to Costa Rica where I was in the jungle every day for more than two weeks. Ran at least one dry per day and recharged at night. Their recording capacity is as high as the larger Cannon battery I also use, if not even a bit better. Charge times were equal too. Not a single complaint with them and If the need arises, I'd buy again.

For the money, these are good batteries. I have owned 2 of them for a few months now. They do not hold quite as big a charge as the original, but for a backup battery they are ok. I have been happy more then once to have 2 of these in my bag for spares. I got these for my hv30 video camera. The charger works great also.

I just bought my second one of these. The first is almost a year old, still no problems just decided I need another charger and battery. I don't even know what the rating is on the original Canon battery, but this one works well. I can take about 800 pictures on one charge. Like all batteries it does not really warn you enough that it is not charged. The charge indicator goes to low when the battery is half drained, and then stays there until you can't take a picture. It is therefore tough to judge if you have enough power for the day when that reading is on the screen. So my fix was to get two. They are one tenth the cost of a battery and charger from Canon, or even the knock off brands at Best Buy and those kinds of stores. The charger works in the car or house, is small and compact, and is pretty fast (few hours to charge). If you buy this battery, all of your wildest dreams will come true.

The battery works better than the Canon original (wtf?) but the charger has only voltage lines, no data line to the battery, and thus cannot read information from the batteries regarding charge status and cycling. I wouldn't use the charger unless absolutely necessary but the battery is phenomenal. Been using it for months without problems.

If you aren't recharging your batteries, you probably drink out of plastic water bottles. If not, this is a great way for back up juice. Be green. JS

The product I received was not what I ordered.
They shipped me the correct charger, but instead of the advertised Opteka 1800mAh battery, they sent a Premium Tech 900mAh. I called Customer Service, and the rep promised to immediately send me the right battery. A week later, I received another PT 900mAh battery. A second call to Customer Service, this time the rep told me the 1800mAh Opteka battery was no longer available. He said he would refund my purchase, but after a month, the credit has yet to appear on my account.
I have had good results from Opteka batteries, I've never heard of Premium Tech.
