Use in bright daylight only. Grainy. At full extension (1300 before 2x) rear tube sags under camera body wieght. But what do you expect at this price point? To protect the camera side attach point you will have to buy a plastic EF-style cover separately. This is a fun lens, not a for-profit lens.

Pros: I was able to take a few good photos of the moon with my Canon 7D. Details on the moon are quite sharp using this lens. Not bad for $269.

Cons: The lens is quite heavy so using a tripod is a must. Some difficulty in focusing the subject but overall, I am glad I bought this lens.

I was reluctant to purchase this due to some reviews listed with the lens. I have been very pleased with the results I have gotten with this lens. I read a review that said you need possibly a tripod and mono-pod and that is what I also got. Using both I have gotten some awesome pictures of the moon. I have included a photo I took with this lens. It hasn't been cropped or photo shopped. It was fully extended using the 2X converter. I would also recommend a mono pod with a tilting head as you will need it to help support your camera unless your tripod is extra heavy duty.

This lens works exelent in day light, kind of dificult in night. considered that you can achieve 2600mm and to obtain that on a expensive lens could cost $$$$$ thousands. thats why this lens is espectacular for the price you pay. you may also need to buy a good tripod.

For the cost its never going to perform with the same ease and quality and equivalent lenses that cost $1000's.
That being said if you persevere with it. Make sure you have a separate tripod for the lens and your attached camera and preferably a remote then this lens performs very well for day time pictures. Night time seems to be a different story and will require me learning a but more before I get those right. When I do I will add to this review with settings used etc.. But it does what I wanted it to do and its cheap enough to add as a hobby lens

Don't expect to get a several thousand dollar lens when ordering this. If you know what to expect and can make up for it's simple design with technique and stabilizing equipment, then this will do it's job just fine.

I purchased this lens to go with my CannonT4i. That night I hooked it to a tripod and captured three amazing shots of the moon, just like the pictures next to the lens in Amazon.
It is a powerful lens indeed that requires practice and skills to keep it steady on the shot. As mentioned in previous reviews, a tripod is an absolute must, especially for night shots. One thing that needs improvement is the lens cap...it falls off easily from the lens. Needs to be more snug.

I cant aford $13,000 for cannon 800mm lense and $500 more for doubler. I have a cannon rebal 5i cam. I have found its best to use sports mode. At 650mm i can take good photos without tripod. At 1300mm with the doubler making it 2600mm tripod is a must i put lense on a tripod and add a mono pod to camera for added sopport. Sport mode is easyist i find to get goot photo with out any kind of image stabilization. But in manaule mode can get great photo by slowing down shutter speed. I am a newbe to dslr cams but even i can use this lens. It takes perfect photos for me but then again i am not making a liveing at it. Its just a hobby. I would love to be abale to afford a $13,000 lens but no way.

I am also going to add a 800mm mirror lens to my setup to later on. If you are like me just starting out and want a monster zoom lens that dont have ti take out a second morage to get it this is it.

It is well made. Its all metal. Not plastic like i was afraid of. If i can figure out how to add photos i will add some to my review next week.

I am going to go somewhere where i can try a photo a few miles away. I have seen some online taken with this lense from 5 miles away. And you can count the bricks on the building. We will see.

And as allways got it super fast with amazon prime. Got it next day saturday delivery for just $10 xtra.

I have added some photos. They are not the best i need better tripod and am taking them from hotel window. That being said. some of these are miles away i could not even see the tower with out the cam and lens. I am learning as i go. This lens is great for the price. $250 that is cheap only thing i can find close to it is $13000.00 cant go wrong for $250.
