Great Wireless Flash trigger for Canon users,
This review is from: Opteka OP-4C 4 Channel Wireless Hot Shoe Flash Trigger & Receiver Set for Canon EOS, Nikon, Olympus & Pentax Flashes (Electronics)
unit works great with my canon flashes and has a really good range. I'm shooting with a Canon EOS 1Ds Mark II and Canon 550ex & 430ex speedlite Flashes and it works Great! I used it up to about 30 feet from my flash and it still worked great. I haven't gotten far enough away from it for it to not work. it also has a PC cord but but i haven't been able to test that yet because the "ear phone" jack side of the cord is too small to fit into my studio flashes, but i'm sure it will work with an adapter. Over all i'm Very Happy with this $30 investment. oh and the battery life is pretty good too it uses 2 AAAs

2 stars because they do work... for a while. They will allow you to take your first step in off camera flash. However they are not reliable so if your photos are time critical, like a wedding etc. don't buy these. You will never use these if a client is paying you money, they can't be relied upon. Both sets I bought have since stopped working. One set died rather quickly. I've heard other people over at the strobist forums love them and they plod on for years. That was not my experience.
I bought 2 sets of these before investing in Pocket Wizards. PW's were the only choice at the time. Now there are Radio Poppers (I've not used them but I hear they are good) and while they cost twice the price, they will last more than twice as long. I'm tied to the PW system which is fine. They are pricey but awesome. If you've only got $30 to spend and you really want to experiment with off camera flash than get these. Otherwise save your pennies get something more reliable.

First off let me start by saying this product does exactly what it says. If u are like me and just need something to trigger your flash or flashes wireless, look no further. I refuse to pay 250 dollars for something that in my opinion just shouldnt cost that much. Im tired of buying items that do the exact same thing as this one, and just because it says "Canon" or "nikon" or "whatever brand" on them, they cost hundreds of dollars. This product costs 30 dollars and works. Thats all i care about. It has a really nice reach 40+ feet and fires every time. The build quality is just not there. But hey, for 30 Buks if it works for 1 year, i got my moneys worth. The people that gave this great product a bad review, forgot they paid 30 dollars for it, or got it as a present. Im using this with a 5D Mark ii, and has met, and exceeded all my expectations. If your like me and need a flash trigger, and dont want to get ripped off, buy this rite now. You wont regret it!!!!!

I bought this thing, and it worked fine for a few months, but then just stopped working. I also found it frustrating that there was no indicator to let me know the receiver was getting a signal, so troubleshooting is difficult.

This thing rocks. I just got it and used it for a fashion shoot. I used it on my Nikon D200 and I have an OLD flash that doesn't use a chord. It works up to 80 feet and doesn't require a direct line of sight. The only thing is that it doesn't come with the AAA batteries required, but that's no reason to knock a star. I've been very happy with it. Mine worked right away and the seller got it to me in 2 days with upgraded shipping. It works just as good for me as Pocket wizards, but MUCH less expensive. Because it's radio there is the likelihood that it other radio signals with fire it, and that it will miss-fire, but for the price, it's hard to beat.

Just got it tonight. Put in fresh batteries and put it on my Nikon D80, and it worked right away. No TTL but for a newbie like myself it's perfect for the price

I love using the Nikon lighting system with multiple SB800 Flashes. However, I had a shoot with a person that couldn't keep her eyes open. It didn't matter what I tried she would blink. Trying to come up with a solution I remembered I had purchased the wireless flash controller. By using it, I eliminated the pre-flash used to control the remote units and solved my problem.

Maybe my expectation is too low, but thought the OP-4C trigger was built fine... for the money. I initially had a hard time getting it to work due to my lack of knowledge in my flash, which is a Sigma EF-500 DG SUPER. No issues once I figured out how to set the darn thing in manual/SLV mode.
I'm pleased with the product, triggers the flash with no issues. Although I was experiencing a very slight delay and I think it's just how I have the camera set vs. the flash. I didn't have enough time to fiddle, but for the most part, shutter and flash are synchronized. Happy with my purchase. Thanks!

This trigger has impressed me so far. I've shot several hundred images using it and it triggers fairly consistently. The receiver module doesn't feel sturdy as in I think that if I bashed it around it could break pretty easily. It does work well though both indoors and outdoors. The transmitter fits onto your flash shoe and screws down so it's tight. The transmitter is fairly compact and has a nice design that doesn't make the camera feel awkward or out of balance. It also has a test button so if your flash goes into sleep mode you can wake it easily without having to snap the shutter. The receiver is a bit tall, I use it in conjunction with a SB600 flash and a softbox and the flash just barely fits into the mount/softbox opening. Also, you mount the flash on top of the receiver so it makes the balance a bit precarious. My flash feels a bit loose in the mount on top of the reciever, even with the shoe lock on the flash engaged. The bracket on the bottom of the receiver is actually metal which I was very pleased with. I can screw it onto a light stand, tripod or flash stand and it feels solid and secure at that connection point. The sync speed is max of 200th/sec and sometimes it's not quite that fast so I usually don't go less than 1/160th. For the price, especially compared to the pro models this has worked well for me so far and I'd purchase again.

This product works. It doesn't work well. It doesn't communicate with my Opteka Off camera flash as far as telling the flash that it shouldn't turn itself off after 4 minutes. I have other issues with it but then again it was only 30 dollars.
