I bought this for my Sony Cybershot DSC-H2(not through Amazon) and getting dark rings on the corners. I am using lens adapter which came along with my camera and did not use any additional filters.

You can prevent them by zooming in a little, but that defeats the purpose of using wide angle lens.

But I am happy with overall image quality for this price.

In addition to vignetting you will get dark shadows on the bottom of the picture taken if you use built in flash. I guess this happens even if you use expensive lens as the lens will always obstruct flash light.

I usually don't write reviews, however...

I thought this was such a great deal, but wanted to tell others that if you are looking for crisp photos, don't buy this lens.

I just got back from shooting some photos out on the river and ocean. They looked good in the LCD, but when I opened them up in a photo editor I was highly disappointed. There was a black ring, just like the other reviewers mentioned, and the photo was distorted around the edges. Even the middle of the photos seemed off like you took a photo with a cheap plastic lens.

I should have known better. The price was too good. The lens seemed like it was nicely contstructed.

I purchased this lens for my Sony DCS-H1. I too got the dark ring around my pictures then I realized something important - that I needed to stand further back from the picture (about 2 feet). Once I reached a zoom level of 3.0, this lens let me take great wide angle pictures. Buy this lens if you at at all cost conscience as the price for the Sony branded lens is crazy high.

I made the mistake of thinking, or maybe not thinking, that between Amazon and 47th Street that this would be an acceptable substitute to the more expensive lenses out there. Boy was I wrong! The lens not only vignettes but the color is washed out and the focus is soft to fuzzy. All in all you get what you pay for and in this case I didn't even get what I paid for.

STAY AWAY FROM THESE LENSES, THEY ARE JUNK!!!!!!!

P.S. I have not heard back from 47th St. about a return for credit after 4 days either. I will update that part of the situation.

I bought this lens for my h5, its pretty good but there are dark rings in the corners. Zoom in and move back to fix that. The macro lens that is included is really good as well. but you have to zoom in. I suppose that for the price you really can't beat it.

Simply excellent, no problem at all for mounting in my camera and the performance is AWESOME

My camera is used for photographing real estate listings. When taking a photo of a small room, in the past all I could capture is a small corner. Now a cute room looks cute, and a fixer upper looks like it.

This item did not live up to what I expected it to do for my camera and I feel I wasted money...lesson learned

El lente de ángulo ancho de opteca esta bien construido y dispone de una buena óptica acorde con su precio en comparación con los lentes conversores de Sony que son un lujo. Sin embargo, para que de óptimos resultados se debe disponer de un tubo adaptador especifico para su cámara a fin de impedir un fuerte viñetado en los bordes que pueden arruinar una buena foto. Si desea un lente de mayor calidad deberá mirar a otro lado y a otro precio. Se debe tener un poco de cuidado cuando se toma en el rango focal mas angular ya que se pueden producir aberraciones ópticas sobre todo cuando se toman fotografías de edificaciones. Recomendado para novatos que se inician en la fotografía.
