Good for money, not for quality

It is good deal when you compare with money. But, youo cannot expect professional quality. Without tripod, you cannot take good shots!

I bought this for my wife a while back... She barely uses it, as its normally not clear enough.

The only good picture she got with it, is a full moon, on a tripod, in zero wind, with a remote shutter trigger, with taking over 25 shots to get 1 good one, and only using the 500mm lense, and ditching the doubler.

They just dont make a decent 1000mm lense for under 3k... Period. If you want to play, I guess this would be good for that. The lens Doubler We got with this makes it nearly useless, using the lens as a 500 mm one (removing the doubler) produces tolerable pictures.

If you are looking for high quality shots... either pay 3k, or deal with not getting that shot.

If your looking to just take pictures of things far away, then this is 'ok' for that.

I bought this zoom lens to take pics at Twin Peaks in San Francisco and in the hills of the East Bay. The lens is okay for the price but the quality of the workmanship and of the photos is no way near as good as a name-brand lens that costs 1000s of dollars. Remember, you get what you pay for. If you are like me and cannot afford a lens that costs $1000s then this is a decent alternative.

I got what I expected -- a cheap, slow lens that has crappy quality. But it works as expected and takes decent photos if mounted on a solid tripod. I got some pretty good shots of the Sun with this lens during the July 22, 2009 eclipse, certainly better than I could have with more expensive but shorter lenses. This lens has a much sturdier build than I was expecting for the price.

It's a good product a very atractrive price but the optics a little blur... anyway I don't regret this purchase Thank you. Buen producto a precio atractivo, un poco difuminada la optica pero de cualquier manera no me arrepiento de esta compra.
