This product has all the features of the most sophisticated Flash units, but not a lot of power(though the guide # is accurate as claimed by manufacturer). The finish(build quality) is dissapointing. I guess if you are not looking for a lot of power, then this price is as low as it gets, for a similar product.

This is really a great flash for the money. It works amazingly well with my DIY fongdong diffuser, Its consistent, I love the fact it has TTL metering, and through my tests it has been 100% spot on with exposure.
The slave works great, If your looking for a budget flash you should get this one!

I'm using this flash on my Sony Alpha 33. The flash is not terribly strong, covering only 24-80mm. This range is fine with me. The build, speed, workmanship, etc is OK. The only serious weakness is that it's not giving enough light in TTL position. Then you have to switch to "mode" alternatives, which is a little tricky & you have to adjust to every given situation to have even an acceptable shot. In my hands, shooting portarits of people about 3 yards away ( & using the bouncing light ), modes of 1/2 & 1/4 worked fine. Slave position works similarly well. As indicated by others, it's worth the price.

This flash works great with our Sony A300 which we recently purchased. We recommend any one looking for a flash attachment this one works grate. The delivery from this company was vary fast.

Extra light for indoor shoots, without being harsh.

The one thing my sony a200 was never very good at with the lenses I have is indoor shots. It was embarrassing to switch to a small point and shoot once indoors. This has made my camera go from indoor loser to hero. In the 30x30 room I used it in, I had no issue whatsoever. With new batteries, the cycle time is fast, and it synched perfectly with my camera, automatically adjusting to whatever the camera read to it. Full Auto. The construction is fairly cheap, but expected for the price. The back screen is simple, but backlit.

I purchased this flash for the Sony A200 - it works very well. I am an amature and have not figured out how to do anything advanced with my camera, yet I put this on my camera and my pictures look significantly better.

I bought the Opteka flash to use with my Sony Alpha 300. I was looking for a flash unit that would extend the flash capabilities beyond the 10 to 15 feet possible with the built in flash. I was interested in a unit that allowed a slave function, through the lense operation, bounce and swivel flash. This unit has it all.
I have used it several times and it has worked perfectly.
On the down side, the instruction manual(?) is skimpy as it is a single sheet 11.5 by 16.5 inches. It would also be nice if it included a stand so the unit could be set on a table or on a tripod when used as a slave unit.
This is my second purchase of an Opteka product and I have been pleased with each of them.
The unit arrived earlier than predicted by Amazon and that was a pleasant surprise.

Can use as a fully automatic flash gun or go manual to expand your creative control. Only miss , I can't use it in speed sync mode on my Sony.

This was a gift for my son-in-law for Christmas. He loves it and used it on Christmas Day. He kept saying "I wish I had ordered it before"
