Opteka Flash Diffuser for Nikon SB-400,

The benefit of a diffuser is that it's supposed to send the flash light in all directions so that it bounces off walls and ceilings as well as getting directly to the subject. The body of the SB400 doesn't tilt upwards, you swivel just the flash head. In which position the Opteka diffuser won't fit at all so you can't use it. You can only use it when the head is pointing at the subject so most of the flash energy is going forward through the diffuser, which means that it's still mostly direct light.
Even with the flash head pointing forward the Opteka doesn't fit properly and I suspect it wasn't designed for the SB-400 in the first place |
