A good flash diffuser that fits just like the original Nikon diffuser on the SB-900...

Just make sure that you actually need to buy it ... don't get caught. Like me, I didn't know that the SB-900

comes with a Nikon flash diffuser... so I bought this along with the flash and ended up having two flash diffusers.
It's a good thing I'd say .. there's nothing bad in keeping an extra diffuser just in case :) ...

I didn't realize when I bought my SB900 that it already came with the exact same style diffuser, no worries though Im gonna use it to secure my flash to a DIY Beauty dish that I've been thinking about making. I like the fact that it has grooves to lock onto the head of my flash.

Fits tightly, doesn't fall off and does a great job helping diffuse the hard light from a big flash. It's not a softbox, but it is compact and useful. Works great indoors, pointed toward a white wall or ceiling to bounce the light and further diffuse the light for a softer illumination. I definitely recommend getting a flash diffuser for any on or off camera flash, and this one in particular for the SB-600 or SB-900.

I am giving this item 1 star simply because it is a replacement only item. If you buy the SB-900 you will get a dome diffuser. This diffuser would make a fine replacement... but buying it in the beginning is a waste of cash.

I bought this thinking I would need it, big surprise...the SB-900 comes shipped from Nikon with one.

I wish I had realized that the SB-900 is packaged with a diffuser. I ordered the flash and this diffuser at the same time.
