The lenses capabilities have been listed by other reviewers. I think that, for the price, it takes pretty decent pictures. I only have one problem though; when taking the 'fisheye' pictures, (the round pictures that resemble the eye of a fish) sometimes, there is a streak of light, barely noticeable, that penetrates the portion between the normal camera lens (18-55) and the macro-fisheye lens. I have tightened the lens to try and eliminate this, but a keen observer may point this out! As for the issue with the flash (pictures come out badly when flash is used, and you should not use the flash while using this lens), I saw that, even with minimal light, the D60 was able to use its internal flash to light up the picture!
For those complaining, please note that a Nikon fisheye lens costs $699, and a Nikon macro lens is [..]. To take pictures using the original Nikon macro or fisheye lenses, similar to those this particular Opteka lens takes, you would need to purchase the two lenses separately at more than [..]! (or even more)
Unless you earn your living in specialized photography, or are a perfectionist to the T, then this lens is good for beginners, amateurs and semi-professionals, and about [..]cheaper!
Please look at the pictures posted above submitted by reviewers, and their website recommendations to be able to see exactly what type of pictures are produced by this lens, if you are not exactly sure. Here is my link I found [..]

It does squeak when you screw it on the lens which is really annoying but, i can't expect much for what i paid.
Overall, I strongly recommend this product if you're a amateur, even a serious one, looking to get a cheap but sturdy and high quality macro/fisheye.
Update: I put this lens on an 18-55 DX lens on my daughter's Nikon D50, and it gives a really nice fisheye effect at 18mm; a circular image with just a little of the top and bottom cropped. This is what my daughter was looking for, so I gave her the lens. She has taken some fun photos with it.
The lens gives you a .35 conversion, which attached to an 18mm gives you an effective 6.3mm, which is more in line with what the example photos are showing.
If you want a fun fisheye effect and don't have thousands of dollars for a 6mm primary, this lens is for you.

-gives expanded angle of view (not truely 180 deg though)
-center area is in focus (AF seems to work)
-unacceptable blur around edges, even while zoomed in enough to crop the vignetting
-front filter attachment rattles around and is not secure
It is a fish eye, but it is super blurry. I wanted to experiment with a fish eye lens but now wish I had saved up for a dedicated lens rather than an attachment.

Little disapppointment here. There was no mention it fits only with 52mm mount. Now a days no lens are below 67mm mount. Read morePublished 5 months ago by Shyamal Sarkar

Better than I was expecting for the price. The effect only works good on smaller lenses but I was impressed with the minimal vignette I got shooting in low light with a zoom... Read morePublished 11 months ago by Paul A. Leblanc
I love this fisheye lens! I recommend it to anyone who wants a fisheye but doesn't want to spend a lot of money. It's cheap and it works great - What more can you ask for?Published 16 months ago by Katie
