Connector Broke,
By
This review is from: Opteka Remote Shutter Release Cord for Nikon D90 & D5000 Digital SLR Camera (Electronics)
I hadn't been using this very long when I pulled it out of the camera, and the metal end of the connector was left sticking inside my camera's port. I pulled the metal part out carefully, put it back on the remote, and it still came off again, left sticking out of my camera. I glued the metal tip back on the remote, but then it wouldn't work any longer. It is going in the garbage now. I am going to buy something higher quality and pay a little more next time. Used with a Nikon D90. It did work most of the time before the connector came off.

Bought the Opteka shutter release. It didn't work at all. Called 47th St. Photo. They sent me a new one. Second one didn't work either. Called 47th St. again. They sent me a THIRD cable. Guess what? Third one also did not work. IN MY OPINION, THERE IS SOMETHING DEFECTIVE IN THE MANUFACTURE OF THIS PRODUCT. I WOULD NEVER BUY AN OPTEKA PRODUCT AGAIN, AND FOR THAT MATTER WILL PROBABLY STAY AWAY FROM 47TH ST. PHOTO ALSO.

Apart from a very stiff plug this device worked great for 5 months and then it just stopped working. I have decided that I will have to pay the extra and get a genuine Nikon shutter release.
