I like a hann-held remote cord, and this one is 10 feet long, enough to do a selp portrait from a comfortable distance. I find the 3 foot cord too short, and the remote infra red a bit uncertain in its function.

I have found the 10 foot release gives more flexability than the infared style.Focus,trip and lock .Very good construction,great value.

Mine worked once, on the Fourth of July, then quit working altogether. Also, the button locked too easily, so shots are easily ruined due to overexposure. If you purchase this, you may be making another purchase soon to replace it . . . I paid the extra for the Nikon MCDC2 Remote Release Cord the second time and have not been disappointed. There are many low-priced after-market items for photography enthusiasts, but few have proved to be satisfactory. This was no exception.

I photograph a lot of things where a timer will not do the job. This gives me great flexibility. I am going to buy one for my son as a present.

After reading the reviews I ordered this remote cord for my Nikon D90. It works great! I really like the fact that the cord is so long. You have to be kind of gentle with it as it isn't made like a tank, but with care the thing should last a long time. The price is certainly great! Get one!

This is a great little remote. The 10' cord is a real plus.

10 FT is plenty
DONT, i repeat, DONT. get a 3ft one. They are way to short.

Only problem with these is, the lack of standards.
Nikon Canon and Sony needs to have a party and make one connector for all cameras and they might become popular once again

I got this for my D90 and did not try it when it arrived. A few months later it does not work.
