Press half way down and set the focus and all the way down will take the shoot.

Some complain that the cord is to short but I found it to be long enough for what I want or need.
Sändman
When using my camera on tripod especially with long exposure shots this works fantastic.

This shutter release works flawlessly,I only give it 4 stars because the 3' length is too short. You can get extentions for these at a reasonable price (3.99 plus shipping for a 12')

I'm by no means an experienced photographer, but wanted something for night shots. For my purposes this is perfect. Others have complained about the cord being too short, but in my opinion is plenty long enough for what I need. I'm using this on my Canon T2i.

Great tool for the novice photographer. Easy to use and super convienent to use. Sure there are not any bells and whistles, but I did not need them with this remote. It serves it's purpose and in a day in the future I will buy one with some bells and whistles. This remote follows the K.I.S.S. program. Keep It Simple Stupid. Thanks Opteka. Thank you for a remote that was so affordable the price point has really made me a great fan of Opteka products...

Inexpensive. That's the good part. It worked for 3 months or so and then the button wouldn't work any more. So I just bought the more pricey Canon version to replace it. Perhaps it will last longer.

I take tons of long-exposure photographs in bulb mode on my T3i and this great little shutter release suits those needs perfectly. It's simple to use, well-constructed, and inexpensive.

The only complaint I have is that the cord is very short. 3' of cord seems long enough until you actually use it, which is when you'll be wishing for another 3'. Not a deal breaker by any means, but when this one gives up the ghost (which, honestly, may never happen) I'll go with a model with a longer cord for sure.

This review will be short:

It works. You press the button, the shutter releases. You push it to hold and it holds. It fits into the camera. That's all I wanted, so if that's all you wanted, get this.

I used this with a T1i and a T3i.

You want simple, this is it. Works every time, all the time. Yes, the cord is short, but what do you need? Three feet is plenty. It's made for releasing the shutter without movement, not self portraits.

This little gadget has helped me tremendously. I recommend anyone that uses a tripod especially with slow shutter speeds. I liked it so much I bought a spare.
