WARNING: Stick with Opti-Free Express or suffer RED EYES!,
This review is from: Opti-Free Replenish Multi-Purpose Disinfecting Solution, 4 fl oz (118 ml) (Pack of 4) (Health and Beauty)
I trust my ophthalmologist as he is the one who first put me on contacts some 6 years ago when I discovered a frightening blurriness that had me squinting. Contacts are probably the best kept secret in inventions to this day as the world would be a much different place without them, anyway to my review. I started out on the regular Opti-Free (before Express?) had no problems with the contact solution or the contacts themselves. During my next visit I was given the updated Opti-Free Express I noticed a little irritable stinging sensation as I put my contacts in but I learned to understand that it was just letting me know they worked. (maybe) During my most recent visit my ophthalmologist gave me Opti-Free Replenish to try as it was a hot new product, during the first few months or so I felt nothing no pain no blurriness, no problems. A few weeks ago my mom asked me what happened to my eyes I looked in the mirror to see two very blood shot eyes it came as a surprise to me as the pain did not set in until a week later when I started noticing discomfort and eye strain late at night. At the time I had a few different ideas it was either the contacts, the contact power was off or the solution was the problem, after a few hapless attempts to find any answers on the internet I set up another appointment with my ophthalmologist. He found nothing wrong with my eyes although I did end up switching my contacts to a larger curve (was thought to be the answer) so it was worth the visit. I went back home and thought I had figured it out and would be problem free, well this was not so, I once again saw red eyes in the mirror and felt the slight irritation that was starting to become worse. Frustrated I searched the Internet again for more reviews on Replenish this is the link that opened my eyes to the truth behind Replenish. (read page 2 for all the similar cases)http://www.epinions.com/reviews/Opti_Free_RepleniSH_Multi_Purpose_Disinfection_Solution I finally concluded it was in fact Replenish causing the problems and I am now switching back to Opti-Free Express, if that doesn't work ReNu and finally if that doesn't work the somewhat of a hassle but (so I hear) 5 star ClearCare solution. Replenish may not bother everyone using it but there is a growing group that are beginning to have problems, best of luck to all, hope my review was helpful!

BAD ALLERGY,
This review is from: Opti-Free Replenish Multi-Purpose Disinfecting Solution, 4 fl oz (118 ml) (Pack of 4) (Health and Beauty)
It's a commercial lie! Opti Free caused bad allergy! I've been using RENU for over 10 years, no problems at all. Choice of contacts; Ciba Day&Night. I was using them for years, wearing for day or weeks at once, without taking them out.Went to my new ophthalmologist; she said I should switch to Opti Free, because Renu is not good for my eyes, also I should try to take the contacts out every day. I followed doctors suggestion... Few weeks passed and I my eyes started to sting, getting red... thought that eyes are more sensitive, should wear contacts less often. Also start developing bad allergic reaction or eczema on neck (no history of eczema at all!)At that time didn't connect that with Opti Free, but that was the only new product I started to use. After 3 months I went to dermatologist and got prescription for allergic reaction on neck, helped a little but not cleared. And my eys!!!! I couldn't wear contacts at all! After 3-4 hours my eyes were burning, even after taking out contacts, the redness and burning didn't stop until day 3 of not wearing contacts! Day&Night could be good for 30 days, for me they were only one time use; later couldn't wear them because they were burning my eyes! Then I read review about Opti Free and toss it away immediately! Bought RENU and again opened new pair... no burning, no redness at all! And the allergic reaction on my neck is gone! Opti Free should be pulled out of market!

Very happy with this,

My optometrist recommended this and Aquify, and having used several brands, I found Opti-Free to be the best. I've used it several years with no problems. It seems to clean my contacts effectively, and leaves them feeling very moist. That seems weird to say, but I have noticed the difference between this and others, as my contacts retain moisture and are more comfortable after using this.I also like the Opti-Free Express, but I think Replenish leaves my eyes feeling better.
