I have been wearing gas-permeable contacts for more than 25 years, and have been using this product for at least 15 years. Imagine my surprise when I received two 3-pack packages that looked different than the one I am used to -- and no contact lens cases inside. The packages and bottles I received state that the product is only for soft contact lenses (the one I have used forever states it is for both soft contact lenses and rigid gas-permeable lenses). I read the ingredient list on both the old and new bottles and it is the same. I also looked up the manufacturer's Web site to see if there was any explanation -- no -- and so I am guessing that Alcon's marketers removed the gas-permeable designation since there are so few of us who wear these contacts anyway. Plus, the company then doesn't have to include a free lens case as people who wear soft contact lenses usually have a special case for them and probably never used the Supraclens one.

So, since I bought six bottles of this stuff based on Amazon's photo and ad but got a possibly different product and no lens cases, I give it 3 stars. After I use up these bottles, I will head back to the drugstore to see if the "old" Supraclens daily protein remover for soft and gas-permeable contacts is still around.

I have used this product for very many years for my gas perm contact lenses. It is easy and convenient and does its work while I am asleep. I do not have to allot time for other protein removing products to work for a specified amount of time and then clean and soak afterwards. It is difficult to find good products for gas perm lenses and this is a winner. Although for awhile they did not print on the box that they were for gas perm lenses, I think they have since changed the packaging. When I talked to the company (1-800 phone number) they said it was the same product and that it certainly was to be used for gas perms. I use it with Unique PH, which I believe has been renamed, however, I can still get Unique PH through Amazon.

The Opti-Free SupraClens is a must used item for soft-contact lens users. The price, on Amazon, for the 3-pack, is the best anywhere.

This stuff really works ! My eyes were so scratchy by the end of the day without this cleaner. Using it has helped me wear my hard lenses till the end of the work day instead of having to switch to glasses by 1:00.

Love this product. My contacts used to last a week, and towards the end they felt very scratchy in my eyes. Now I can go 3-4 weeks with these drops and they feel like brand new contacts. I'm shocked at how well it works. Expensive I guess, but I enjoy the comfort.

I've used this product for over 20 years. If your sft contacts are plagued with excessive protein build-up, this is the mildest and effective solution to throughly clean your lenses. It's also good for sensitive eyes, and is non-irritating.

My contacts would be a mess without this product. One drop per day keeps my disposable contacts feeling like brand new for an entire month.

i used to use bausch & lomb sensitive eyes, but then they discontinued that and only have the boston original and boston advanced formulas left, which both stink. i tried this stuff along w/ the alcon ph clean/condition solution, and glad i did - even better than the old sensitive eyes formulas. great stuff, highly recommend if your eyes are a little more sensitive than most to the solutions.

Using this product definitely helps your lens last longer and feel fresher in your eyes.
