4.0 out of 5 stars Wanted white lamp
Perhaps the company has improved the springs. My lamp works just fine. The only problem is the parts fit together somewhat lop-sided-just an aesthetic problem for the fussy!

1.0 out of 5 stars Faulty
This lamp will not hold a desired height between the bulb and my work. It tends to fall towards the work, no matter how hard I tighten the screws and knob.

3.0 out of 5 stars Swing Arm Lamp by Ledu, September 14, 2009

This review is from: Opti Series Swing Arm Incandescent Lamp, 30" Reach, Black
This lamp is convenient because of it's "swing arm" construction ... But it's not very sturdy in it's base, also, in spite of the off & on ease of it's switch cover,
it's on & off efficiency is not always predictable ... sometimes when you turn it on, you have make an extra move to get the light on, plus the switch cover, which is also convenient as a "Heat Shield" ... will come off very easily, and if you are not careful putting it back on, then you're in danger of stripping the inner grooves
which keeps the cover secure on the lamp's vertical switch ....!! An earlier lamp I purchased, had this problem, and the cover became useless, and the vertical
switch, over time, became almost impossible to turn. Then why did I buy another???? Because of their usefulness in my studio setting ... AND, because I know what to expect, if I'm NOT EXTRA CAREFUL ...!!!

Ledu made the best lamps years ago. All my architect friends owned them. I have four from the old days. They are more expensive than the one I'm reviewing,
and Infinitely Superior ..... I don't think they are available any more. I have had no luck in finding the more expensive model, which by the way, is all metal,
and no plastic ...!!!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Weak springs, April 11, 2007

I bought the lamp and returned it. The company was fine about returning it. The problem with the lamp was that the springs to hold it in place weren't strong enough. Most lamps have 2 springs at each point--this one had one. Otherwise, the lamp was fine.
