I have done some testing with the 8x lens kit. It is far better then using the digital zoom on the iPhone 4s which produces a lot of grain when zoomed to max. the center of the pictures taken with the 8x lens are very good, but the farther from the center you get worse the picture gets. i would estimate you lose about 25% of the picture and all 4 corners are either black or out of focus. You can crop the pictures and have a pretty decent picture of something which is very far away. overall i think it is a decent product that works and what can you expect for under $20. i will be keeping it.

This product does enhance the zoom capabilities of the iPhone, but it is virtually impossible to focus the lens. When you turn the lens to focus the image you simple unscrew the lens from the flimsy plastic case to which it attaches. The lens is very resistant to being adjusted. The price is affordable for what you get, but if the picture is out of focus even slightly there is nothing you can do about it without putting down the phone and using both hands to firmly adjust the lens.

I was very happy when ordering the item, but very unhappy when I open the package. Nothing of what I recieved was anything like in the picture or description. Did not recieve carrying puch, tripod, end caps for lens, cool iphone like box. Lens was a cheap poor grade material. Phone case was cheap clear plactic with lens adpater hot glued on. I ended up buying the exact picture through another site and recieved exactly as described and pictured!! The only positive thing I got from transaction with amazon was the refund. I dont know if this was brainydeal's scam or amazons. Either way I was very displeased

The 8x Zoom Telescope works very well. It extends the zoom lens 30 x by 70, so I can use my I-Phone camera like my other camera. The best part is my camera is always with me, I only have to attach the lens. Also the lens comes with a tripod so I can set up the phone just like a regular camera and walk away. For the price the 8x optical zoom is a great addition for improving long distance photos with the iphone camera. I got the zoom to help improve pictures and video clips that I'm capturing at my daughters softball and soccer games. She plays outfield in softball and the zoom helps capture photos that would otherwise not turn out because the distance is to far away to allow the pictures to turn out well. I only give it 4 out of 5 stars because the lens will only attach to the case that comes with the lens pack. If it would attach to the case that I use with my iphone I would give it 5 stars.

I don't know what people expect for under $15 but I think this gadget it pretty nifty. I took a picture with the iPhone without the attached lens as close up as I could get it. Then I attached the lens (super easy to do) and took it again and I was able to get a picture much closer with pretty good clarity. Again, you get what you pay for. You're not going to get the quality of an SLR camera with a zoom lens. Keep in mind that you're taking pictures with an iPhone...so you're only going to get what the iPhone can produce. If you want a greater picture, take a darn camera with you. I'm always amazed at the expectations of people giving reviews, especially when they pay so little money. It absolutely does what it advertises. The tripod is a bit flimsy and personally don't even know why they include it. I mean if you're really going to bother with a tripod while taking pictures on your iPhone, then you may want to rethink what you're doing.

Because of the low price we didn't expect this product to be that great, figured that 'hey if anything is wrong atleast it was cheap'. But it ended up being awesome!
The tripod makes it feel like you're being a real photographer. The zoom is absolutely insane, and precise and even with the highest zoom the pics come out perfectly clear. It's also great for zoom on video. It's going to come in handy for drag racing events, etc.
We also picked up a 6x zoom lens, not sure why since its the same thing but didn't come with the case, tripod, etc- it only clips into the phone. We sold it to a friends since this one blows it away and another friend ended up purchasing it also. Definitely recommend 😊

I bought this because I miss my old SLR and love photography and thought this might be a fun way to expand the possibilities on my phone.
Pros. does work as it suggests. 8x zoom lens. Its small and easy to apply.
Cons. You get what you paid for. Its a clear plastic iphone case with a piece glue-gunned on to hold the lens. This was pretty cheap but least effective. The lens is kinda hard to adjust as mentioned before but thats the nature of it being a zoom.
My biggest issue is the fact that it has part of the ring on the outside of the frame. You have to zoom it a little on the front or crop it out after taking the picture.
Overall I am satisfied. This is pretty much what I expected.

it works
the zoom telescope lens actually works! takes great still shots. only downfall is that you either need a super steady hand or NEED to use the tripod that comes with it.
