This cable works just fine to connect the S/PDIF headphone-digital optical out port on my iMac to my Yamaha receiver's optical in port.

been using this cable for about a year now, and have unplugged it and plugged it back in hundreds of times.

works great, and sounds noticeably better than my old miniplug to RCA connection I was using before it.

don't pay more than you have to, this cable is perfect.

I was pleasantly surprised to discover this very cheap cable that does exactly what I need it to do. It arrived quickly and saved me from buying yet another expensive home entertainment device. I was able to achieve the result I was looking for simply by rethinking the problem and implementing this extremely affordable solution. How awesome is that?!?!?!

To be fair, I will say that I rated the sound quality 5 stars because it works. If it didn't work, it would get 0 stars. That's the beauty of optical cable. It works or it doesn't. No sound quality rating is appropriate here.

Use it to channel audio from my Airport Express to my amplifier. Does exactly that. Don't be scammed by expensive Toslink cables - they are digital and therefore the same, quality-wise (construction and durability is a different story).

Well, similar cables (and usually 6 ft long) sell for a lot more. This cable is a steal, and works great. Hooked up my laptop to the home theater receiver, worked like a charm. No point in paying a lot more money for another brand, this one is the way to go.
Comes with caps for the ends, and they're attached to the cable using a small plastic cord, so you won't loose them.
Tried it with stereo and 5.1 material, at up to 96 kHz sample rate, with no issues.
I would buy it again with no second thoughts

Big sound improvement going to digital audio! Works great with my ASUS G2S notebook's SPDIF output and feeding into a Turtle Beach Earforce DSS. The cable is well made. The optical covers won't get lost either. They're attached as can be seen in one of the product images. Excellent price and fast delivery.

My Panasonic Plasma TV has a digital audio out jack that usually needs a Panasonic K7CXGYC00002 - which goes for about 50 bucks and then a normal TOSlink cable between it and the receiver/soundbar. There is one of those "adaptor cables" in the original cable pack but my TV was a discounted floor model, so guess what was not included... Panasonic does not actually give the specification of the socket as to whether it is optical or electrical. But, in the dark, there was a tell-tale red laser dot coming from it. So, I decided to experiment, and THIS cable is exactly what is needed to hook the TV (mini-plug end) to the receiver directly - and save 50 bucks into the bargain. Works perfectly!

Alternative to - PANASONIC CABLE OEM Original Part: K7CXGYC00002
