Editorial Reviews

Last year, press everywhere agreed I:Scintilla as the one of the most outstanding discoveries by longtime pioneering genre label, Alfa Matrix. Their Havestar EPCD was an immediate club favourite and I:Scintilla rapidly began appearing on countless compilations both on the metal and electro scene while their video for "Capsella" received heavy rotation around the world.

Today, the Illinois-based quartet continue their fast ascension towards the top with their new album, Optics, an intoxicating blend of industrial beats and atmospheric creations. The seductive voice of female singer Brittany Bindrim instantly brings comparisons to Garbage and Evanescence, while their intricate layers of guitars and dominating electro synth lines bring them closer to the feel of Nine Inch Nails.

Catchy and furious at the same time, I:Scintilla offer an addictive cocktail of hard-edged industrial atmospheres, intense female vox, crunchy guitars and electro beats!

5.0 out of 5 stars Overdue praise from a fan on a fantastic album..., January 11, 2008
This review is from: Optics (Audio CD)
Having been exposed to their earlier album release "The Approach" (which has earlier versions of a few songs on this album), I had already developed a fondness for this band before I purchased this one. I've been listening to this album for many months now and it's become a staple of my collection. Sexy and captivating female vocals combined with a delicious industrial/ebm/metal/goth sound that I find impossible to resist. Difficult for me to compare this band but my closest comparisons would be a cross between Curve and The Azoic -- both of which are coincidentally two of my favorite artists.

Sidenote: I sprung for the 2-cd limited edition version of this album when it was released and am pleased to say the bonus cd of remixes has some great stuff on it and is worth picking up if you can.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazon is OUTSTANDING!!, December 30, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Optics (Audio CD)
This was a gift for my son. I have never heard of the group. I was delighted with the service and selection from Amazon.

You can get ANYTHING from Amazon. I found White Shoulders cologne for my wife, first time in 5 years. My younger son even bought Peter Pan peanut butter through them.

Amazon is a fabulous company!
