I am a huge fan of Optimum Nutrition and so far they have not let me down with their line of products. I don't consider myself an athlete but I do stay in shape and workout 5-6 times a week, and my training fluctuates all the time to keep my muscles in constant learning state. It is because of my training that I require top quality products to help with endurance and also with recovery, and I have learned over time that a single pill or product will not give you the results you desire. However, when you combine the right products together you will find out how much more you are capable of, and it takes time, money and practice to figure out what works for you.

If you take a look at some of the other supplements I've review, I pretty much think rather highly of most of them, but it is because during the time I was using them my body demanded a specific type of supplement. Recently I have found out about Threshold and just like everyone else, I was unsure if it was the product for me. After a few days of research I decided to try it and I must tell you I don't regret it.

- Taste -

I am not sure what it is about Optimum Nutrition's products, but they are quite tasty and this one is no different. I never tried the one without flavor, but the Fruit Fusion is great, and it does not require you to mix it with a lot a water. This alone is a benefit for me because I never like to consume large amounts of water prior my runs/workouts. Great flavor with only 5 calories

- Value -

I always make an effort to state the value of the product, and this product is worth your hard earned dollars. With 75 servings per container, it is hard to beat for the price you are paying. I don't buy sodas, juices, or anything of the sort, and my diet only includes water, protein shakes and supplements. So for the price of this product in combination of my protein shakes, I am spending less than $1 per serving and that beats buying those energy drinks and protein drinks they sell you at stores for 2-5 dollars.

- Effectiveness -

The label does disclose that you will get a tingling feeling on your skin during the first couple of times you use it, and it is true. Do not be alarmed, it will not cause any harm and your body will get used to the ingredients. As for the energy you get, well it will not get you shaking in desperation of a workout, but you will definitely feel the sudden surge of energy. The container tells you to use one scoop, but I have found myself using anywhere from 1.5 to 2 scoops for an even bigger energy rush. Please note that you will be the one to judge how intense you want it, after all we are all different and we have different levels of tolerance.

I gave this product 5 stars because of the combination of value and effectiveness. I will recommend this product if you are in the market for an energy supplement that will help you fight fatigue and also help you with the recovery. You will feel the difference in your muscle endurance within the first week of use, so it is not bad.

Pretty good supplement overall. The beta alanine in it is good at preventing lactic acid build up, which has allowed me to work out longer and harder without getting sore as fast as I do without it. I try to get in at least 2 servings of 2-3 grams of beta alanine a day.

There's 75 servings in this bottle, so 25-37 days worth, depending on how many doses you want to take a day. Compared to other beta alanine powders, such as NOW Beta Alanine Powder, which has 500 grams of pure beta alanine, this product is quite pricey. ON's does yield a couple advantages though: 500 mg of l-histadine per serving and it is flavored. The l-histadine helps increase carnosine levels, and the flavoring is actually pretty good, so if that's worth it to you, I'd recommend this one. Pure beta alanine doesn't taste the best.

So, for a good tasting, effective pre-workout supplement, this works well. But for value, definitely just get pure beta alanine powder. You won't be disappointed with either, they both work well, it's just a matter of preference and cost.

You will notice a difference in performance. I started noticing about the 3rd day of taking this supplement, so wait a few days. This product is certainly worth your money. YES, you will feel a slight tingling sensation on your skin when taking this product, but it is normal and it goes away. Your body gets used to it. Try starting with a small dosage to test your sensitivity to it, then gradually increase to the recommended dosage. I stopped taking it for 5 days and, when I came back to it, I felt hypersensitivity on my right thumb for about 4 hours. It did go away. Don't be scared because of this. It is normal.
