Product Description

Flavor: Vanilla Bean

Product Description

Oats and Whey are fundamental elements of an athlete's diet. Naturally low in sugar, oats supply slow-burning complex carbohydrates and hunger-filling dietary fiber. Whey proteins are readily digested and provide considerable amounts of essential amino acids (EAAs) -- especially the three branched chain amino acids (BCAAs). Natural 100% Oats & Whey combines the benefits of these nutritional powerhouses in a smooth, drinkable shake that's quick to prepare and equally easy to clean up after. Each serving packs in 24 grams of all-whey protein and as much fiber as a big bowl of oatmeal. Better yet, it tastes great, so it goes down easy. As the name suggests, Natural 100% Oats & Whey is free of artificial flavors, sweeteners and synthetic colors. So naturally, it's great for breakfast, after workouts and any time that you're looking for an on-the-go meal.

Taste great and mixes well.

I don't like the taste of artificial fake sweeteners like Splenda,so this powder is great because its sweetened with honey instead.
geist
I highly recommend this product for those looking for a more natural option in protein supplements.

After reading up on all sorts of different meal replacement shakes I decided to create my own. I have used ON Whey protein in the past as a post workout shake and absolutely loved it. Stumbling onto Oats & Whey sounded like a very promising and balanced meal replacement for me. I ordered the smaller jug in case it was gross and I am now ordering a larger one. I LOVE it. The taste is great. I don't understand the reviews stating it's odd or thick texture; maybe they are making it wrong. I do recommend purchasing a blender bottle (with the metal ball inside) because the drink tends to settle quite quickly. Just a little twirl in the blender bottle and it's good to go. I have the vanilla flavor and make it with unsweetened almond milk, water, and even sometimes a little coffee (in the mornings). It's delicious! It is heavy on the nutrients, so I drink it rather slowly as to not overload my tummy too fast. In 1 week I am down 4 pounds and don't feel hungry for at least 3 hours at a time. Then I grab a small snack (pretzels, carrots, apple, etc) and I'm good.

I bought this as an alternative to the Gold Standard Optimum Whey that has artificial sweeteners. I use both, but take them at different times. The Oats and Whey is very good. Optimum makes the best whey protein, hands down. It tastes good, mixes well and has plenty of protein per serving. There is a slight grittiness when drinking, but its insignificant. Shipping was very fast. I will continue to buy this. I just wish I could find it in a 5 lb. container.

Flavor Name: Milk Chocolate Verified Purchase
I'm on my second 3 lb. container of this protein and I felt I should leave a review, with some pointers for those who haven't purchased this before. Last time I bought this product, I went with the Vanilla Bean. The quality and ingredients of both flavors are excellent, however the vanilla bean simply did not do it for me taste-wise. As a college student I do not have many ingredients on hand to mix, or appliances such as a blender available, so I was mostly drinking the vanilla powder with milk mixed in a BlenderBottle. For this combination I would give the taste a 5/10 at best. With water, the taste was pretty awful and the drink was hard to get down. However, I did try this powder mixed in a blended smoothie with whole fruit and orange juice once, and it was delicious, though the vanilla taste was barely noticeable. I'm not sure that I could say the same for the Milk Chocolate powder in a fruit smoothie.

After finishing the vanilla powder, I decided to try the Milk Chocolate flavor. Let me just say that the taste of this flavor with milk is way better than the vanilla I had before. I just finished a ~10 oz. glass of skim milk/chocolate whey powder and it was delicious, 10/10. I haven't experienced any clumps of powder with either flavor as others have noted, but again I am hand-mixing with a BlenderBottle for atleast 30 seconds every time. I HIGHLY recommend the milk chocolate flavor if you intend to mix this with milk.

Other notes:
-Both of my containers came with the scoop buried in the middle of the powder. You will have to dig a bit to find it.
-Price per oz. is cheaper on this all-natural product than all other whey powders that I considered. ON's 100% Whey Gold Standard 5 Pound tub, the #1 best-selling whey powder on Amazon right now, currently costs $.72/oz. versus $.56/oz. here.

5/5 - great quality product, excellent taste (Milk Chocolate), reasonable price.

No artificial or fake sugars and five stars rating. I have had past problems with artificial sweeteners. Problems I discussed in a forum discussion here on Amazon and won't bring back up because there are some people who think just because fake sugar doesn't hurt them, it won't hurt anyone else. I would guess diabetics have the same problem when trying to explain why they limit their real sugar intake. Optimum Nutrition is a name I have known since 1995. I was a freshman in college, a scholarship football player and there were 3 of those chain supplement stores within 5 minutes of the school. I had been buying Met-RX protein powder since it was all the rage back then, but hated the price. I then tried a then new company's product named Muscletech, believe they called their protein Nitrogen Protein or something like that. It was expensive too. Went though a few others, when one day a bodybuilder-type guy was buying some protein and was telling me about it, it was the "cheap" company Optimum Nutrition and it really was cheaper, about 1/2 the price of the others per serving. Well, you know how we are when we're 18-22, it must not be good if it's that much cheaper. I didn't think to pay attention that this guy looked like a future Mr. Olympia. Anyway, I eventually bought some of it back then and if nothing else, it did as much as the other protein powders did for half the price.

Skip forward 5-6 years and a major health problem came up. The first thing my physician focused on was my use of supplements. He did some tests and found that the fake sugar in those products was hurting my body. Please folks, I'm not here to argue the validity of it. All I can say is it was near life-threatening, if at the least, was causing partial leg paralysis.
