I took one dose and starting feeling nauseated and light-headed after a short time. Stopped taking immediately. After reading the label discovered that it contains Raw Oyster Concentrate. There is a warning on the label but none on the Amazon listing, and honestly I never thought to check for this - multivitamins don't normally have Shellfish ingredients in them! Lesson learned.

I've been using Opti-men multi-vits for ~1 month. Previously I had been using "One A Day" multi-vits. With the change to Opti-men, I have noticed a significant increase in both mental focus and physical energy. I wake up feeling more refreshed in the morning and have nice sustained energy throughout the day.
Note that I usually only take two a day, not the three recommended.

Let me start off by saying this multivitamin and I just didn't compliment each other very well. Started taking this multivitamin three days ago b/c my current multivitamin (costco brand) was starting to lose it's energy boost that i got from it. Decided to try the Opti-men and suddenly started to feel heart palpitations and anxiety while taking the pills. I came to he conclusion that it might be the added amino acids that were added. I am sensitive to various types of amino acids, but not sure which type of amino acid.
Really liked this product though as it did give me the extra energy boost i needed throughout the day, however the heart palpitations and the added anxiety i got from the pills definitely made me stop. Hopefully, orange triad another recommended multivitamin might be best for me.

I have done my fair share of multi-vitamins ie centrum, vitapaks, and gnc multis. I can't say that i felt an increase in energy, but then again i am not a gym rat, but i do do alot of recreational basketball. Here is the laundry list of changes i noticed.
Noticeable changes to body: -Bright Urine -Less Acne -Better Immune System (before i started taking these, if i felt like i was on the verge of getting sick, i would. Now, my cold usually dies down after the first symptoms) -Better Recovery Time from injuries (i noticed i heal alot faster from nagging injuries ie, sprained ankles, bruises, and cuts and scrapes -Less intense hangovers (i read that vitamin b-12 helps with hangovers; it works for me. i used to buy the 5hour energies to get the b-12 , but since these multis also have b-12, i tried using them, to a noticeable success. i take them either right before i go to bed, or wake up to help with these nagging head bangers.

This is the only multivitamin I've ever taken which had an immediate and tangible effect. Perhaps it's the Asian nutrients like gingko which make the biggest difference. Basically, I feel a marked increase in energy and stamina whenever I take one in the morning with breakfast, such that I no longer need to take a 30-60 minute mid-afternoon nap to recharge even on days when I've had only 5-6 hours of sleep the night before! I have felt no need to take more than one pill a day, especially since some reviewers have reported difficulty sleeping at night when doing so. The size and smell of the capsules are fine, and the fluorescent green urine it creates for a couple of hours after ingestion doesn't bother me either, in the least. Am now on my second order of this stuff. Big thumbs up!

Opti-Men is a great supplement for athletes/bodybuilders/anyone who goes to the gym. I first bought this at the Vitamin Shoppe for $20 for the 90 capsule bottle meanwhile I could the 180 capsule bottle is here for the same price. This fills in any vitamin I may be missing in my diet. Overall, a great product.

I've tried many multivitamins and by far this is one of the best I've taken. They aren't like some pills, (horse like) and the taste isn't bad either. I would definitely recommend to others.

Opti-Men is awesome. I am a proud member of the "Alien Pee" club, lol!!! In all seriousness, this product does deliver. I do endorse the use of only TWO tabs per day. It is more than enough even for me (6'3'' 430lb and getting smaller). Try the 90 cap first if you must but for a few dollars more (bad movie reference) you can get the 180 tab bottle.
Worth it, emphatically YES. We blow $20 on lattes in a week, why not try something that can actually give your body something it can use more efficiently? Try it.

So, I like the MultiVitamin, I feel a little more energized and a little less sleepy all the time but it does have a weird side effect for me (other than the highlighter pee).
2500% of your RDA for Vitamin B6 results in some VIVID dreams. I wouldn't even mention it except for the first week I was taking these I woke up EVERY NIGHT with some horror movie plot of a nightmare. So, if you get these pills and you start having vivid dreams, you aren't the only one. Cheers, Leo PS: I hope the dreams stop soon, I don't think I can keep out running that clown.

I was reading the ONLY bad review about Opti-men having a tiny amount of lead (1.62 mcg per 3 pills), then I did some research on HOW MANY THINGS WE EAT THAT HAVE WAAAY MORE LEAD...a sweet potato(7.2
mcg of lead) has waay more lead compared to Opti-men multis. I think this is a report PAID FOR BY A COMPETITOR Multi Vitamin company. By the way this test by consumerlabs.com was done like 2 years ago, I've never heard of consumerlabs.com I bet they have ties with other companies and was paid for by a competitor. It's just like the stock market, if any bad news comes out about a certain company their stock goes down. I bet they got paid to put this bad review out, just like stock promoters. heres the email response from an Optimum nutrition rep which cleared things up for me: We are aware of the recent consumerlab.com report in which Opti-Men was tested and allegedly did not "pass" the lead content analysis. We are currently working with our suppliers and conducting our own internal testing. In the meantime, it's important to note that only a single sample was tested and that ConsumerLab.com clearly stated in its report that the levels allegedly detected did not pose a health risk: From ConsumerLab.com: "Another men's multivitamin contained 1.62 mcg of lead per daily serving. Although this amount is unlikely to be harmful in itself, lead exposure should be avoided." Also noteworthy is the fact that lead is a naturally occurring mineral found in the water we drink, the air we breathe, and the soil we grow our crops in. In fact, the US Government's Center For Disease Control publication "Inorganic Lead Exposure, Metabolism and Intoxication" states that" typical intakes of lead from food, beverages and inhaled air are in the order of 300 - 400 mcg per day." (1 mcg = 1/1,000,000 of a gram) To put this in more perspective, a sweet potato contains on average 7.2 mcg of lead, a typical glass of red wine 6.8 mcg, a peach 3.4 mcg, and an apple 2.6 mcg of naturally occurring lead. Moreover, the USP acceptable level of naturally occurring lead in a serving of calcium is 4.5 mcg. All of which are significantly greater than was allegedly found in a serving of Opti-Men. Ideally all food, water, air, and supplements would contain zero lead, but at the present time this is not realistic or possible. Rest assured; consistently providing the purest, highest quality foods and supplements is our ongoing mission for over 20 years. We thank you for your business. |
